Spybot Search and Destroy - http://www.safer-net...g/en/index.html
Quality Spyware remover

ccleaner - http://www.ccleaner.com/
Crap Cleaner, does what it says on the tin. Incudes a regcleaner and a decent uninstaller too.

COMODO Internet Security Suite All-In-One - they now have their AV and Firewall all neatly bundled into a security suite in just one download. I now have this running on my systems...
http://www.personalf....com/index.html

recuva - http://www.recuva.com/
Restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer.

Disk Defrag - http://www.auslogics...are/disk-defrag
Defraggler - http://www.defraggler.com/ (Piriform)
I've not used defraggler, but you an bet it's clean and easy to use - both are quicker than Windows defrag. Defrag once a month, make it part of your routine.
EDIT: I have used defraggler for the same guys who made CCleaner, and it's terribly slow. The Auslogics one also stated above is mega quick, and has had decent reviews too from Computer Active! and the like...

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - http://www.malwareby...rg/products.php
Bloat free, quick and simple, the best malware remover there is. Get it. Now.

Also try these on-line PC care centres...

1. Trendmicro Housecall - Probably the best at the moment

2. F-Secure OVS - Very good performance, not as many features as Housecall

3. PC Pitstop - Solid 3rd choice, but not as good as the first two. It has a few different features that may help in specific cases.

The also rans, check these out - you probably won't need to if you've used one of the above - but here they are...

Symantec Security Check

System Checkup

Secunia OSI

Zone Labs Scanner

Try Avast. I use it and never had any problems.
