There's some big fights coming in the next month:
24th April: Carl Froch v Mikkel Kessler - WBC Super Middleweight Championship fight.
1st May: Shane Mosley v Floyd Mayweather Jr - WBA Welterweight Championship fight.
15th May: Amir Khan v Paulie Malignaggi - WBA Light Welterweight Championship fight.
Tonight's (tomorrow morning's to be pedantic) fight between Pacquiao and Clottey is gonna be on Sky Sports 1, coverage starts at 2am. Should be a good fight, Pacquiao's probably the best in the world right no and he's taking on a guy who's never been stopped (apart from a DQ). Clottey's a durable fighter who's clearly the bigger man out of the two, he's bigger than any opponent Pacquiao's faced before, and will probably be 10-20 pounds heavier than Pacman by the time of the fight.
I think Pacquiao will win, his speed and technique should see him be able to see him maybe score a late TKO else a unanimous decision against Clottey. Clottey's a durable guy, who could potentially hurt Pacquiao, but he's not particularly fast, or has good foot work and he's not really an outside boxer and his KO record isn't really all that good. I think Pacquiao will frustrate him, perhaps score a knockdown, but ultimately win a decision. That said the physical difference could be a factor in the fight....Pacquiao's been hurt before, at the lower weights and Clottey will be significantly bigger than Pacman in the ring.
Anyone else staying up to watch it?
