The Kell Brook fight was a total mis-match. The Pole hardly landed a shot and Kell looked like he was in first gear throughout. Strange, because that Pole has never been stopped according to Boxrec.

That's the thing he was a really solid worthy opponent. Great record and if you watch his bigger fights he has been really good. Challenged for a world title the lot. Brook made him look like a journeyman.

Maybe he is a bit past it. But I would like to believe that Brook is just that good. Coming up he was touted as the real deal but an argument between Frank Warren and Brook's dad meant he didn't fight enough as he should have. Now he is with Matchroom he seems to be getting the fights he deserves.

I haven't seen much of Bellew, but from what I have seen, I think he could be in for a good hiding on Saturday. However, with Cleverly being prone to slugging it out rather than boxing, he could always leave himself open to one of Bellew's bombs... checked out Bellew's amateur record the other day - pretty impressive KO rate !

I doubt I'll pay a tenner a month for BoxNation as well - money's tight and I have to draw the line somewhere. Shame, because it looks like it will be a good channel, but if I had spare cash I'd probably rather get ESPN for UFC.

Should be interesting because Cleverly's defence is often terrible.

Surprised there's no mention of Smokin' Joe's passing on this thread. Great boxer from a great era of boxing. Thinking of Ali, Frazier, Foreman, et al all being around at the same time doesn't half highlight how :censored: the heavyweight class has been for the past ten years.

RIP Joe.

RIP Smokin Joe. Would have had any of the so called heavyweights of today

The only current heavyweight I'd give a chance of beating Frazier is Vitali Klitschko. Wlad would be a huge favourite if it wasn't for his chin. I can see Wlad dominating Frazier, the much smaller man, with his jab, but Frazier would only have to land a bomb and Wlad would be píssing blood on the floor for a week.

RIP Smokin' Joe. Took Ali to hell and back in a fight which for me there was no loser.

I urge everyone to watch this documentary: It's brilliant, and a great insight into the Ali/Frazier rivalry.

Did anyone see Manny Pacquiao lose last night?

Well, he didn't he won a majority decision in his 3rd fight against Juan Manuel Marquez....but a lot of people thought he lost. I had Marquez up by a round but thought a draw would have been fair. And despite having 2 epic and close action filled fights in the past, one a draw and one a split decision win for Pacquaio, barely anyone gave Marquez a chance in this, a lot of people thought he;d end up getting KO'd, he's 38 fighting 3 weights higher than his prime weight class, in fact if you want to see how unfavoured Marquez was, read this:

http://www.boxingscene.com/boxingscenecom-staff-predictions-pacquiao-marquez-iii--45953

And Pacquaio's promoter is already calling for a rematch as well as Pacquaio's coach Freddie Roach. Guess after that performance they'll think twice about putting him in against Mayweather 'cause Manny would get clowned all round, every round.

There's a video of the fight here: http://www.megavideo.com/?d=04SEXLAZ

Here's what some of the top boxers have put on their twitter in reaction to last night's fight:

Marvin Hagler "Disgusting result! #ROBBERY!" http://twitter.com/#!/TheMarvelous0ne

Bernard Hopkins "FloydMayweather blow thru MannyPacquiao easy!!" http://twitter.com/#!/therealbhop

OscarDeLaHoya "I'm still sitting on my couch in disbelief. Paquiao cannot compete with a counter puncher like Marquez. Juan has the Patience to wait and capitalize on mistakes. I think this shows how superior mayweather is." http://twitter.com/#!/oscardelahoya

Andre Dirrell "Ok after this fight, I don't know what 2 think! Did JMM just have a good night, or did Pacman put on a great possum show 2 get MW! U TELL ME. GO GET YO GLOVES ON AND COME WHOOP THIS DUDE!!!! PACMAN CAN'T SEE YOU!!!" http://twitter.com/#!/andredirrell

ZAB JUDAH "Robbery!!!!" http://twitter.com/#!/SUPERJUDAH

Steve Cunningham "All pro fighters I know ,guys which know what to look 4 in a fight had jmm winning. It's not just entertainment to us its a #lifestyle#" http://twitter.com/#!/usscunningham

Anthonydirrell "If y'all think that they was bout to lose out on 150 million y'all crazy"

Matthew Macklin "It was close but still wrong...and for it to happen THREE times!!!!!?? WTF!!!" http://twitter.com/#!/mattmacklin

Andre S.O.G. Ward "Well, I was wrong. Marquez is boxing a masterful fight. Marquez won this fight, period!!" http://twitter.com/#!/andreward

Terry Norris "Wow! Thought PAC man would win. But clearly Marquez was robbed again. PAC did NOT win this fight."

Andre Berto "Smh WOW..... Come on u know Top Rank was gonna let Marquez **** the money up!!! Great fight though"

Omar Henry "Wow I just watched Pacquiao get beat and Marquez get robbed!!!! and yes I was one of the people in the crowd booing the robbery!!!!"

Chris Arreola "Marquez won, true champ. Let's see Mayweather-Pacquiao. ****."

Rashad Holloway "I'm team Pacquiao all day but Marquez won this fight hands down. Sad to see how politics run this sport when fighters work so hard." http://twitter.com/#!/RASHADHOLLOWAY

Fernando Vargas "Well I'm DISGUSTED at tonight's event. It's sad that u can TRAIN your butt off for months and get jobbed at the end of the day! Truth is that EVERYWHERE Marquez goes EVERYONE will tell him that he WAS ROBBED & HELL FEEL LIKE HE WON BECUZ HE REALLY DID!!! SAME FOR PACMAN. EVERYWHERE HE GOES PEOPLE WILL TELL HIM HE REALLY LOST AND HE GOT A GIFT!!! LOVE THIS SPORT. But this is a SAD MOMENT FOR ME.

#LongLiveDinamitaMarquez" http://twitter.com/#!/_FernandoVargas

Juan Diaz "Great fight for the boxung fans but bad decision by the judges." http://twitter.com/#!/1Babybull

Amir Khan "mayb a good draw or marquez by 1-2 rounds." http://twitter.com/#!/amirkingkhan

Anthony Mundine "I luv PAC too...but he lost fair & square...but I'm sure he will return stronger...PAC v Marquez 4 #bringit. Actually I change my mind! Marquez deserves the pay day v money!! As he was really the victor! Don't think I wanna see 4. Even tho money." http://twitter.com/The_Man_Mundine

Erik Morales "Nos robaroooon y feo. Marquez total reconocimiento es el segundo mexicano que le pone en su madre a pacquiao, gano y gano muy bien felicidadees!" Which translates to English as "They robbed us and it was an ugly robbery too. To Marquez total recognition, he is the second Mexican to beat the sh!t out of Pacquiao, he won and he won nicely. Congratulations!" http://twitter.com/terrible100

Jean Pascal "On my card Marquez WON!!!!" http://twitter.com/jeanpascalchamp

Not sure I agree.

Full respect to Marquez - he threw quite a lot of nice shots and threw the punches you'd remember. But he didn't land as many as Manny and wasn't as aggressive, so the decision didn't surprise me at all.

Manny has looked out of this world in some of his fights over the last few years, but I supposed he actually looked human tonight. I will say that given Marquez's valiant effort, and the way he pushed Manny so close (far closer than anybody else for a while), it sort of felt like Marquez should've been given the decision - but that's not how it works.

Haven't seen the fight. Sounds like it was more than enough to stop Mayweather running though. Hopefully he'll see Manny as beatable and take the fight now. We need this fight, boxing needs it.

In other fights. Tyson Fury was entertaining as per. Hardly a classic but good fun. Always looks like there is more action in the crowd than in the ring at his fights.

Eubank jnr looked a real class act on the undercard of the above.

Denton Vassel retained his belt. Live from Oldham sports centre. Darius' cousin keeping the family name held high.

Just a heads up of a documentary on ITV1 tonight at 22:35 called "The Fight on their lives"

http://www.itv.com/thefightoftheirlives/

Britain's most brutal, controversial fight. Boxing's most compelling story. A new ITV1 documentary revolving around the infamous world championship bout between Nigel Benn and Gerald McClellan in February 1995.

To be screened on Monday 5th December at 10.35pm on ITV1, The Fight of Their Lives is a story of human courage, the search for the truth and for redemption. It is a story that reaches far beyond the ropes of the boxing ring.

Gerald 'The G-Man' McClellan was one of the hardest punchers in history, a fearsome boxer who fought pit-bull dogs. Today he is brain-damaged, cared for by his sister Lisa.

Nigel 'The Dark Destroyer' Benn was a soldier turned world-class boxer, renowned for a playboy lifestyle. Today he lives in Majorca spreading the word of God. Having attempted suicide, he is coming to terms with the life he led and the people he hurt.

"This was a truly great fight. It fulfilled the prophecy." (Don King)

"That was one of the classics. Like the Rumble in the Jungle." (Brendan Ingle)

Benn v McClellan was a classic contest, laced with brilliance and controversy until its tragic end. So many lives were altered that night in 1995.

Benn was knocked down twice but recovered to achieve the most dramatic victory of his career - perhaps of any boxer's career.

The fight has never been shown on TV since and controversy over what happened that night persists today. The stories of the accused, talking for the first time, make for emotional viewing. Unseen footage throws new light on the story.

Boxing legends and A-list witnesses Barry McGuigan, Jim Watt, Frank Bruno and Manny Steward contribute their own powerful testimonies.

In 2007 Benn and McClellan were reunited, an incredible moment captured for The Fight of Their Lives. The reunion was meant to bring closure.

However, there have been fresh allegations, further twists and new discoveries made since then.

Interweaving past and present, the amazing narrative of a hidden sporting classic, the emotional testimonies of the accused and the incredible stories of two men, this will be compelling viewing on ITV1.

Hate him, or, er, hate him...you've got to give Chisora some credit for his performance tonight. He never troubled Vitali, but he didn't run away like many others before him have.

Vitali well below-par tonight. Past it, or just an off night ? On that showing you would have to give Haye a chance.

That kind of thing has always gone on. Riddick Bowe launched a glass at someone once. Roberto Duran said he'd knock Sugar Ray Leonard's Mum out in the 70's. All part of the theatre. A disgrace? Not in the slightest - it's brought my interest back.

I want to see more of it!! I accept I'll be in the massive minority - but they arn't supposed to like each other.

FIGHT!

Whilst I do think it's pretty embarassing for Britain, with the rest of the world looking on, I kind of agree. There's no getting away from the fact that the Klitschko brothers are dull and so at least last night's nonsense gives us something to talk about with the heavyweights.

Vitali looked like a man who thought he was going to stroll it, as usual, last night but whilst Chisora isn't the most skillful and takes a lot of punches, he has an ability to hang in there.

I agree with some of what you are saying, however I was taught to be humble in victory or defeat - and I've found that the majority of fighters to be just that. What I don't like seeing is complete disrespect for the opponent, let's face it this isn't just trash talk we've seen here - this is embarrassing. Chisora is off his pickle, and Haye is just as bad for getting involved.

I liked how Vitali was laughing at the whole sorry affair in the post-fight presser.

To be fair, I think Haye was just trying to get his shot at Vitali and he was goaded a fair bit by Klitschko's manager (even before he stood up). I know the way he goes about it is pretty classless, as it was the first time around, but I think it may be the only way he'll get the fight. Saying that, I do think Vitali wants the pay cheque that'll come from fighting Haye, so it may well happen.

Haye must fight Chisora first, it's too hot for the promoters to pass up the opportunity. The hype for this is already off the :censored:ing scale!
