they dont get it wrong too often, so if he did go who would be in the frame to replace him?

Lets face it, we're going to lose Dickov at some point - he's generally done well here.

On the plus side, Corney will (hopefully) have learnt not to bring in a journeyman lower-league manager like Penney, Moore, Talbot, etc. but give a chance to a retiring player in the same mould as Dickov.

Think the bookies have got this one wrong and it's just a few rumours flying around. He's done very well for us and has been given an opportunity to make his mstakes but, in their position, they surely need someone who is a 'promotion specialist'. Not sure their fans would be welcoming either.

If you follow the markets, a "candidate" going odds on is usually a sure sign of an outcome. Warnock went from 4/1 to Evs to heavily odds on for the Leeds job yesterday.

Two things make me doubt this:

1) Dickov is presumably on a coach, so some sort of shady negotiation going on today appears unlikely.

2) If Huddersfield are really keen on promotion, why appoint somebody who major managerial achievement is losing the Northern Final of the JPT?

I remember lumping on Chris Coleman to Newcastle few years ago and he ended up going odds on. I think the basis was a post on an internet rumour that just spiralled. Would be a shock and, even with my shocking gambling history, I don't see it as a value bet.

My heart sank when I saw Dickov was the shortest odds. Every time he has played against town his team has ruined the game and played anti-football. He's probably a bit more canny than Lee Clark when it comes to tactics but I doubt we would see much quality football.

This one makes me laugh clearly not seen us play much and its got nothing to do with the fact that Huddersfield have looked very average whenever they have played us under Clark which has reulted in his sacking.

The key word being "usually".

It's not a value bet.

It may even be a negotiating tactic - a leak by Huddersfield to get Grayson to cut his salary demands.

Hmm I hope this doesn't mean Mr Dickov is leaving. I thought about him taking the job when Clark got sacked, I still believe he won't go. The pressure at Huddersfield to go up is phenomenal. He'll have 16 games to sort his team, motivate and turn things around. With the money they have they'll want to get a man in who's experienced at a promotion chase rather than taking a punt on someone who has done well on a budget.

Hope it is Grayson now.

I think Dickov is decent, but I don't think he's the right man for us, or that we are the right job for him.

Or Di Matteo, but he doesn't even feature on the SkyBet odds.

Even though im a big fan of Dickov, i cant see what he's done with us that makes him the stand out canditate for a team with a fair few quid thats looking to get promoted?

They have to go with somebody with at least a bit of experience surely?

I very much doubt PD is anywhere near a front runner. They're clearly setting their sights a little higher.

If it did happen though I'd want El Capitano Sean Gregan as Gaffer.

At the mo he is evens on stan james and paddy power, 8/11 on sky bet.

I still think it will be either Simon Grayson or Billy Davies though

Market suspended on PP.

Dickov is doing a decent job on limited funds. I'd be surprised if Huddersfield wanted him. It's a completely different brief to what Huddersfield will be asking.

Costly squad - big funds at his disposal and big expectation.

Grayson has done that - twice.

If he doesn't get it Hoyle is a pillock. (unless Grayson doesn't want it)
