opinions4u
Isn't that Annie's Song :censored: they play at the end of half time called The Chip Butty Song?
Tommy_Fent
Not a hope in hell of getting chip butty in Sheffield they dont do chip shops. One in the centre on West Street is about it. Usual fast food outlets but no chippies. Now if you want a Pork Barm cake lots of places. For god sake dont ask for a muffin or you will get a fairy cake.... ;-) you've obviosly never been to Two-Steps at Hunters Bar then phenominal place and the girls serving you aint too shabby either. The people who lived in my mates flat before he did wrote a song about the place http://www.yorkshire.com/view/food-drink/sheffield/two-steps-fish-chips-1215697
keep_the_faith
No danger of this being made all ticket then? Think we'll take a lot over and as been said, people seem to struggle with barcode turnstiles, expecting lengthy queues down brammall lane.. Diego_Sideburns
Crikey Diego its like saying will pop down to Mossley from Boundary Park. Sheffields idea of a Chippy isnt an Oldham one as for mushy peas.... processed tin peas. PS its nearly half way to Chesterfield. ;-) Handy if you're coming from Chesterfield. bossrocks
I remember there being an OK (not amazing, but fairly tasty) chippy near Hillsborough.

jsslatic
On a side note, the chippy at Gresty Road was the best I've been to in a long time.

It's still there, I lived on Shoreham Street last year. I wish Sheepfoot Lane was as lively as Shoreham Street
welshgaz
On a side note, the chippy at Gresty Road was the best I've been to in a long time. The queue was huge, had to settle for a cold battered sausage and chips on the high street!
IceStationLatic
If you're driving into Sheffield via Manchester Road/A57, when it joins Fulwood Road and you pass through Broomhill, the Broomhill Friery was always pretty epic when I was a student at Sheff Uni

Diego_Sideburns
...The Devonshire Cat down from West Street is top notch (if Wetherspoonish in decor) and if you have time the Fat Cat/Kelham Island Tavern are also great pubs (certainly for real ale aficionados)... Thanks for the info. Stayed overnight in Sheffield and had a good pub crawl, taking in the Fat Cat, Kelham Island Tavern, Wick At Both Ends (Bock beer from the Harlequin), Red Deer, Devonshire Cat and Railway Tap. We went past the Wick at both ends at about 11 and heard someone shout "Tom!" That wasn't you by any chance? We went for a Curry after the match, the outcome of the match certainly helped us build an appetite
