opinions4u
As stated in another thread, I can't make Monday night's meeting. I'm not a Trust member but I do have some vague notion of getting more involved if it's something I can manage time wise / stress wise and if I feel it can work towards a greater good for Latics fans. I'd be grateful if somebody could ask some questions on my behalf and feedback the answers. I appreciate that others may also want to have a say, but here's what's on my mind - hopefully it's reflective of others' thoughts too: 1. Is the membership list in a fit state and how many identifiable paying members are there? 2. There appears to have been a recent change to the Trust's company status. What is the reason for this? 3. What proposals, if any, are there to broaden membership and improve the democratic processes within the Trust? 4. What proposals are there to improve communication from the Trust to: i) members ii) the wider fan base 5. Is Barry (along with other Trust Directors) prepared to do a monthly Q&A session, posting answers on the Trust web site? 6. What are the primary objectives of the Trust for 2014 and 2015 and how will these be achieved? 7. The Trust has occasionally asked for more people to get involved. What are the role specifications that need filling? 8. What plans does the Trust have to put itself in a position of strength in the event of becoming owners of the football club? 9. What financial reserves does the Trust have and how would these be used in the event of a threat to the future of the football club? 10. What plans does the Trust have for involvement in the proposed supporters bar within the new stand? Feel free to improve on my questions or add your own to the thread. BP1960
good answer but that really isn't a constitution Agreed, A non league clubs does it better; http://www.dtfcct.org.uk/Trust-Rules-2011.pdf And a Division 2 Trust; http://trust.exeweb.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/ECST-Rules-2013-v1.pdf Also in Scotland http://www.safcst.org.uk/constitution/ Trust must be asked to provide a up to date and fully comprehensive constitution. underdog
I am going to the open door meeting at 6.30. Not knowing the agenda, I can't promise I'll get my chance to stick my hand up and open my gob re your questions or what chaddy smoker has asked too. It maybe a case the questions are for the members meeting that is planned afterwards. I honestly have no idea how this will pan out But I will make notes the best I can and if their is a q & a at the end, I'll ask as many as I can too Is anyone else going by the way? So kudos to, presumably you, for being able to both find it from 2001 and more importantly actually having it online.
jw_oldh857
one question. if we all want the same goal ie . what's best for latics , then why are we not pulling in the same direction together. it hurts seeing us arguing about this if I'm honest

blueatheart
Heh... AH stated that the Rochdale Road end of the ground was acoustically superior to the Chaddy End, generating more noise. Andy Ritchie agreed and wondered if people were still set against changing the home end of the ground to Rochdale Road instead. Dave Moore of the Canadian LSC (Latics Supporters Club) informed the panel that he had run a survey on his website which showed a majority now in favour of such a move. A show of hands by those present showed a near 50-50 split on the topic. AH said that another survey might be worth pursuing in the future. SJ said that he would do this through the official Club website. It was also pointed out that the Chaddy End would require a new roof in the next few years or so. GlossopLatic
one question. if we all want the same goal ie . what's best for latics , then why are we not pulling in the same direction together. it hurts seeing us arguing about this if I'm honest Everyone wants the same thing they just believe in different ways of doing it Personally I would rather just stay a fan than getting involved in this. It seems like a lot of hassle for little reward, I would hate for this to kill my enjoyment of going to the game every other Saturday. slystallone
Everyone wants the same thing they just believe in different ways of doing it Personally I would rather just stay a fan than getting involved in this. It seems like a lot of hassle for little reward, I would hate for this to kill my enjoyment of going to the game every other Saturday. This for me too. I tend to want to focus on the game of kicking the round leathery ball thing around the pitch towards the netty things; and the debates that result from watching that. The political side of it i tend to avoid. See how the Trust AGM thread has escalated. So - Colchester away then eh? Another big game... Zorrro
7. The Trust has occasionally asked for more people to get involved. What are the role specifications that need filling? As per the Trust AGM thread, I paid my fiver yesterday and am now offering whatever help I can. If the answer to this question can be recorded and posted here that would be great.
