For the record:

Smith and Dayton are under contract

We have an option for Rodgers

You've missed out Danny Gossett, and him and the rest are out of contract.

FWIW I'd sign Harkins, Worrall and Kissock*

Let go Rodgers and Dunfield

Keep the rest, including Gossett

*I've not seen Byrom play but from reports I'd sign him too (so because I can't vote for the others without voting for him I said sign)

It's a tricky thing to judge when you don't know who else will be available but it will be interesting to see if LJ prefers to stick with players he knows like Byrom and Rodgers rather than bringing in new faces.

Rodgers looked good in JPT & would accept being cover to Wes & Smith. If LJ wants to raise money, Smith is our most saleable asset.

I know what you're saying but whoever is brought in as CM will have to be back up to Smith (won't be dropped as Captain) and Wes (if he stays & his form is as good as recently).

Rodgers would've played when Smith got injured but was injured himself. Byrom looked decent at Crewe but if we keep Smith & Wes whoever it is will be cover

when west was out before Liverpool rogers warmed the bench in fact tarky was played in cm in front of rodgers, I dont rate rodgers and imo something went on around the liverpool game as LJ seemed to lose faith in him as well, some say he played well against county in the jpt but i thought he was average against a poor team.

I'd keep Wes, Smith as definites. I'd also keep Dayton, contrary to popular opinion. There's a decent winger in there somewhere; going right back to the start of the season, he's was superb at Stevenage and has shown some of that form in patches. get him firing like that on a regular basis and he'll be fine.

Signing Worrall and Harkins is a no brainer, but what it might cost to get Harkins back could be the stumbling block. Two of the best wingers we've had in some time but, as I say, if we can get the best out of Dayton, we may not do too badly. I'd keep Kissock too as back up; we could probably do a lot worse and he won't be on megabucks.

I'd keep Rodgers too, but let Dunfield go and maybe try to sign one more.

Im in the Dayton in camp. He was top at the beginning of the season, got injured and subsiquently had a dip in form and didn't recover from that before the signings of Worrall and Sir Harkins. Since then has only had a few cameos and hasn't been able to replicate his form from earlier in the season.

We know what he can do (on his day), I say keep him.

What makes Worall one of the best wingers we've had in a long time? I have the opposite opinion and I'm just interested to see what people like about him. Personally I feel he fits into LJ's defensive workrate style to a little extent, but not sure he's beaten his man in 4 months. Dayton IMO (and thats all it is) is 10x the player; loads more ability and despite missing two great chances in the small game time in recent weeks, has still looked more dangerous than Worall. I'd be upset if we paid anything for him / broke the wage bank to get him in.

What exactly can Dayton do on his day?

He can't finish, he can't cross and he has no strength. I also can't get over the 5 game mid-season run where he hit every single corner to the first opposition player.

I wish him all the best, but it's an "Out" for me, I'm afraid.

Changed my mind on Worrall, from today's performance anyway, thought he was absolutely dire.

Although in general, we weren't much better. I think we need wingers that keep the tempo of the game going, prepared to run down the wing with the ball, rather than stopping, passing back to the full back or into the central mid. I'm all for the "possession game" but it aint half boring and we aren't very good at it.

Pace, tricks, beard, finishing, beard, crossing. All those traits I'd attribute to him.

I disagree he can't finish, he missed a sitter against Brentford but look at his neat finish against Notts county in the jpt and his worldly against port vale, his finish at bristol was alright aswell. He is also one of few players that will actually shoot.

Strength is a weakness, no doubt. Although he does often use it to his advantage, buying freekicks often.

I also agree about his corners though however, from open play I've seen him whip in decent balls. Also, 8 assists from 31 makes him top our assists board (Harkins and philly in second with 4)

Ha, forgot about the beard factor..

For his two goals in the league, I can immediately think of two easier chances he should have scored (one being against Brentford and one being yesterday..).

Didn't realise he had most assists, (7, according to the official site, just to be pedantic..) which is a positive, but hasn't he been our only recognised winger that's actually been here all year? If so, of course he should be top of the assists, in my opinion.

Not convinced...

Everyone misses changes though, you only have to look at the countless sitters Charlie Mac has missed. Also, didnt see the cov moss but vs brentford, he had the awareness to run in behind, pace to beat the offside trap and just lacked the finish.

According to espnfc, Dayton 8, Harkins 4, Worrall and Patrasso have 3, sydney 2 and Monty just 1 in all competitions.

I'm with Joe P and the others re: Dayton.

Huge disappointment this season. His negatives far outway his few positives for me; and the main reason i can see him being here next season is the fact that he has another year on his contract, and i cant see any side being interested in buying him from us.

Unless we do a "Rooney" with him and allow him to join a club in a free transfer agreement, he'll surely still be our player next season?

He has shown he can beat a man, and he has shown he can cross a ball. But, its been few & far between.

I got a text at HT on Monday from a mate, saying 'big opportunity for Dayton to show what he can do this' when he came on for Sir Gary at HT.

I watched him closely for the 2nd half, and he played such a safe game. Every time he was fed the ball, his first instinct was to roll it back to Grounds, or inside but backwards to Smith. He didnt once look to get at his man, not once.

He put 1 corner over that was whipped in nicely (Keeper still claimed) but his other was wildly over-hit. He also shat out of 2 challenges and did that annoying 'jump but make no actual attempt to win the ball' every time the ball was in the air around him.

I'm sorry, but after a full season, i think we are all now well able to form our opinions of him & his play. He's not a youngster. He's not got development still to do. He is of an age and number of games that should mean his game is formed already. So, this is his game really. And his game isnt good enough on any form of consistent basis.

I personally would cut our losses and look to release him somehow - maybe as the make-weight in a deal to sign Sit Gary with St Mirren? But, i cant see anyone actually being interested in him; so i feel he'll be here again next season unfortunately...
