LaticsPete
“He defends well and can play right-back, centre-half or that ‘number six’ position (accoridng to LJ) What is the "number six" position? Left half ? Or what might nowadays be the left central midfielder !

Allows to play that tricky 4-2-3-prisoner-in-a-Welsh-village formation that's all the rage.
Dave_Og
I always played no 6 in sunday league football - Crytal Palace & District Division 4. As I'm six foot four and amply proportioned I saw my main job as "getting in the way". Tactics? Pah!

Isn't it the 'Mascherano' or for the slightly older example the 'Makalele' role. Sweeping in front of the back 4. Very deep & defensive midfielder? jburbri
Maybe he's just the steadying influence in that midfield we've been craving for since John Sheridan to get is foot on the ball and spread the play out. For to long in that midfield it's been rushed and it's been an hot patoto that's why I think it'll be a good fit between Kelly and jones. oldhamoafc
So if he's playing the Korey smith role of sitting in front of back four... Does that leave Jones out wide with Dayton and then Kelly in the middle?

As I see it at the present; 4-1-4-1 Goalkeeper Rachubka Back Four; B Wilson Kusunga J Wilson Mills One holding midfielder; Dieng Two central midfielders; Jones Kelly Right side midfield; Winchester Left side midfield; Dayton Lone striker; JCH IMO two signings needed, a left winger and another striker. jburbri
We could play three five two with wilson mills as wing backs then jones Kelly dieng as your three central midfielders.
