The guy played 27 minutes of football last season. Prior to that has was an ever present in the Bristol City championship team 12/13 from January to the end of the season and prior to that an ever present in the Kilmarnock team.

He needs time to regain his touch and fitness, he hasn't had a run of competative fixtures for more than 15 months.

Looks like you've found your boo boy already! Ffs its 2 league games.. and why single out kelly? First half today he was in the box doing what jch should have been doing- getting on the end of what limited crosses we had..

Kelly has completed about five passes in the last two games.

We can't continue to play in this formation and if he finally makes a change. Jones and Winchester can't be dropped.

If you mean the cross that landed square on his forehead that he managed to head wide, Clarke-Harris provided the cross. Wr would have some player in Clarke-Harris if he could get on the end of his own crosses. Kelly has been by far the worst player on the pitch over the first 3 games. I'm not saying everybody else has been great but he has been a walking disaster.

Far, far too early to call it yet.

He looks, so far, way off the pace and his touch has been poor, so too his passing. Right now, he doesnt look worthy of a starting spot let alone the captaincy; he's been :censored:e.

BUT - as others have thankfully said, he's missed so much football and i'm clinging to the hope as his match fitness & sharpness returns; so too does his footballing ability. He's going to have to do that though in the engine room of 1st team football. It could be December before we see the real Liam Kelly stand up?

That is the problem no doubt....Kelly, Forte, Elekobi and even Mills all need games to get fully match fit....we just need to trust LDJ that he's brought in good players.

It's not a good start but 2 games in is not the time to be ripping into the team, if we're still struggling at the end of September then that would be the time to worry.

When Forte gets fully up to speed we're going to have a hell of a player on our hands...the problem then will be keeping him here.
