Team vs Bradford JPT

Recommended Posts

thought id sneak this inbetween the thousand other threads going on at the minute... but, is he going to do the usual wholesale changes for a cup game or stick with what worked well at weekend?

id go with :

Rachubka

Wilson - Wilson - Elokobi - Mills***

Winchester - Jones -Kelly- Forte

Poleon - Philly

*** (another bad one from mills and he needs to be dropped)

It's the JPT, he can't make the usual wholesale changes. See http://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/news/article/030913-johnstones-paint-trophy-rules-1033300.aspx for more info.

In todays latics player pre-match it was said there's a few with knocks. id expect forte to be rested as lj says his knee is having to be carefully managed ala Korey during back end 13/14.

reckon there will be 3 or 4 changes ( maximum allowed anyway ?)from Saturday including straight swap for JCH and Poleon .

Bit of squad rotation needed here with Fleetwood on Saturday

Rest: Forte, Elokobi & Philly

Let's give Bove & Morgan Smith a try up top

Bang the new lads straight in midfield Poleon out on the wing possibly with Dayton on the other wing and Winchester joining Tidser in the middle

Rachubka

Brown

J Wilson

Elokobi

Mellor

Tidser

Jones

Dayton

Morgan-Smith

Poleon

Philliskirk

Probably breaks a rule. If so, play Mills instead of Mellor at the back and consider Mellor instead of Dayton.

he won't drop kelly, will he? he's started poorly that lad but got stronger as every games gone!

It's a toughie and he might give Jones a rest for the reason you give. He might also feel that, as skipper, Kelly should play.

My logic is that he will be looking to find a balance between getting game time and appropriate rest for Kelly. 4 games in 11 days is a big ask for a player who has spent a lot of time out injured.

On the other hand, he might be keen to beat Bradford and keep Saturday's momentum going with minimal changes.

It's LJ, he will tinker!!!
WE know that its our only hope of a trophy, so a bit of consistency is needed.

A good case for playing some players into form, and try the frindge players
so either 6 from the Donny line up or 6 of top 11 players appearance wise

So with the loss of JCH its the same list!
list.

Donny starting Line up

Rachubka,
Wilson,
Elokobi,
Wilson,
Mills,
Winchester,
Kelly,
Jones,
Forte
Philliskirk,
Clarke-Harris

or

6 from this top 11 appearance wise

01 Paul RACHUBKA Goalkeeper 6 5 1

03 Joseph MILLS Defender 6 5 1

05 George ELOKOBI Defender 6 5 1

06 Liam KELLY Midfielder 6 5 1

10 Danny PHILLISKIRK Midfielder 6 5 1

14 Jonson CLARKE-HARRIS Striker 6 5 1

15 Carl WINCHESTER Defender 6 5 1

16 James WILSON Defender 6 5 1

07 James DAYTON Midfielder 5 4 1

08 Mike JONES Midfielder 5 5 0

11 Jonathan FORTE Striker 5 5 0

20 Brian WILSON Defender 4 3 1

PLenty of scope for change

Didn't he turn out his strongest team in this round last season ?

I hope it's just niggles that are rested rather than experimenting with players and formation. We're on a small upward curve so we need to maintain that as much as possible. Going off recent injuries that may need resting that could be Brown in for Wilson and Dayton in for Forte. Then maybe Winchester (and his alleged suspect fitness!) to come out in favour of the new guy and Poleon instead of JCH.

I think we need to keep the back 4 as unchanged as possible though.
