David Noble re-signs

Recommended Posts

This looks to me like it is to get around the transfer window rules.

I'm assuming his Latics contract ran out after the deadline, so he cannot sign permanently for anyone else until January.

We had this situation with Adam Lockwood last season, except we've helped Noble out here, to avoid him being in football purgatory for 4 months.

Turns out it's for a separate, but similarly dull reason.

If Exeter don't fancy him, he can sign for somebody else in Jan.

If he had signed for Exeter permanently, that would not have been allowed, due to FIFA's rule forbidding anyone to be registered with 3 different clubs in 1 season.

so, we're helping someone out? by helping someone out, does this benefit us?

Goodwill with an agent.

Doing the right thing by a player to let him ply his trade may mean other players (and potential future signings) see us as the right kinda club to play for.

It's simply the right thing to do, regardless of any benefit or not.
