David Noble re-signs

Recommended Posts

by helping someone out, does this benefit us?

I'm no socialist by any stretch, but is there really always a need for us to benefit?

As far as I can tell we're helping someone fudge the system a bit in order for them to earn a living. If that's the worst thing to happen to us you can colour me happy.

At the least, if he does well at Exeter he is still our player and we can play him when his loan there finishes. We are fudging the system, for almost no risk and lots of potential reward.

Weve only signed him on a short term contract so will be gone if he does well

He can be loaned for a maximum of 93 days, which doesn't take him to Xmas. We could have offered him a contract until January and I will still call it a short-term contract.

If he does well at Exeter initially and gets his fitness up we will bring him back before the 93 days finishes.

On his interview with Gordon, when asked about Noble being released, LJ said we'd soon read about it in the papers so he wasn't going to comment. I assumed that Noble had done something wrong, judging by the look on LJ's face. Very strange. LJ could have just said that Latics are re-signing him and letting him out in loan to improve his fitness. Odd!

ive never mentioned it's a bad thing, i was genuinely being inquisitive and finding out more about the situation!

now i understand, fair play to the latics.. it'll give us a good word amongst some players/agents and not doing us any harm! can't imagine many other clubs doing something similar either so puts our club out there on being helpful
