Lee Sinnott
Patience is a virtue. Possibly the worst five goal thriller ever. Well done Danny P. Even worse than Notts Co at home a few years ago on New Years day...
boysinblue
Defending was so poor for the first two goals. Rachubka was excellent once more though. Danny made the difference when he came on, the movement and positioning improved. Poleon didn't look 100%. Kusunga wasn't really noticeable, bar that late foul - which is a definite improvement on the start of the season. 10th in the table looks good to me. opinions4u
Even worse than Notts Co at home a few years ago on New Years day... I missed that one. Two points off the play-offs. Seven games unbeaten. In the top ten. But still lacking in urgency in that first half and don't let the recent clean sheets fool you, we are not perfect defensively! Optimistic for a week though. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29289525
Gaz_Oafc
Scunthorpe one of the worst sides I've seen at BP over the last few seasons. Can't believe they scored two against us. Officials were :censored:e. Our reluctance to shoot in the first half was ridiculous. Fed up of all the backwards passing. Danny P changed the game. Flemboy
Good goals by Danny and must have boosted his confidence. Scunny were poor and glad we beat them.Poor referee.Lots of good passing and effort .Well deserved win today. What was the clapping for before the game in the Chaddy for a fan? AnthonyOAFC
Superb 3 points. Good for Danny to get a couple of goals and good to see Forte add another to his tally.

Simpo
While we weren't direct enough in the first half, it was still criminal that we were behind! And you could tell Scunthorpe had been chasing us all game. As soon as it was 2-2, the Scunny players looked dead on their feet. Cool finish from Jonny Forte. Great signing. I love Brian Wilson. Solid defensively, has great feet, and gets up the other end of the pitch plenty. Unlucky Connor Brown! Fantastic feeling to get that all-important 3 points! YES! underdog
Christ that was a painful 3points. chubs my MOTM two lovely saves first half and set up our goal number one from a throw out. Danny made the difference had to chuckle at a friend who said he's not a striker just as he popped up for the first and then he got more grief when goal number two went in. I don't care if they come arses or elbows as long as they go in for us. Top 10 hope we don't get a nose bled and that big g is okay as I can see kusunga getting sent off soon. Took a yellow for us too..yikes
bluehobbit
I like Brian Wilson but so often he gets to the final 3rd then goes backwards to Winchester hes got to try and drive at the defender some of the time or get a ball in... The amount of times it killed momentum today was criminal but as a defender hes very very solid I'm a bit worried about Poleon now. He had an OK debut but has gone backwards since...Doesn't look at the races although in fairness we never play the ball early enough for him to run on to Still not convinced with Winchester on the wing maybe time to give Moragn-Smith a run out and see how he does for 90 mins 10th will do very nicely that's a game we could have easily lost. But we stuck at it. Scunthorpe were really poor kick it long to Fallon was the plan and we stopped it most of the time. It would have been very harsh on us to loose that feels all the more satisfying for all the time wasting they did
beag_teeets
I've had a :censored:e two weeks and needed a win today, when we went behind twice I was cursing ever being a Latics fan. They don't just let you down when you need them the most, they cut you and rub salt in. When our third went in, to say I was happy was an understatement. JoeP
I think that deserves a bit more than the faint praise on here. Thuggish teams are coming to Boundary Park with the intention of bullying us yet, finally, we seem to have cracked how to deal with that without abandoning our footballing principles. Heads never dropped - alright it wasn't pretty but Scunthorpe were the most stubbon, untalented, anti-football team we've played this season, and that's saying something. The defence had a rare off day for their goals. but that's allowed. Delighted with that and have real hope, for the first time since the Shez era, that we could actually be moving forward. rudemedic
Their time-wasting and general anti-football tactics of thuggish behaviour and cheating plus a prick of a manager and the poor officiating which missed a blatant hand-ball outside the area and the most incompetent 4th official ever so when our 3rd went in it reeked so much of karmic payback the Dalai Lama could smell it in Tibet. UpTheLatics
Excellent three points, but only because we were 2-1 down. We should never have been in that position at half-time. We will continue to struggle to break sides if we fail to force the issue and look to cause panic throughout the opposition defence. We did that in the second half. We moved so they moved. We turned them and they looked awful. We ran at them and they panicked. We need to keep doing that. Early on in the second half Philliskirk wasn't moving into the space between their back line and midfield. We had a line of four players. Once we started to drop into space we were able to create chances and ultimately score the goals. Useful three points considering next week's opponents. It wasn't so much the blatant hand ball outside the area, it was the handball by the defender that hit his wrist and then the referee pointed to his shoulder. Definitely one of the biggest, ugliest teams I have seen for a while. Brian Wilson was mom for me, not a pretty game but 3 great points. Roll on my first ever visit to Peterborough next week. Up to that point the centre-backs were pulled all over (especially Wilson) for a good 25 minute spell during which we could've been 4 down (well Rachubka). Fallon was kept quiet once Kusunga came on. What more do you want? We played very square, yet again. Side ways passing upon side ways passing. We need to be a little more daring at home. no1laticsfan
I thought Kusunga played well and that yellow could of definitely been a red card. He took a chance for the team there and it paid off.
MAC0AFC
kusunga played well... it's great to knew when a big influence like George goes off, that we have a player of kusungas ability to come back on! and then even dieng and lockwood... strength in depth this year! I'm all for getting early crosses into the box usually, but (and as was proved) that was not the way to do it today. Their defence won everything in the air and our goals in the second-half came from fairly intricate build-up play and Forte's goal came from sheer persistence on the deck. I think they had three chances in total and took two of them - at no point did I think we should have been 4 down. No need to nit-pick today. Our defence is usually solid, but when it has an off day we need to be better in attack and we were.
