Bunty Blue
Now just this chaps hypothesis and stretching to make links to Pozzo's ownership of Udinese, Watford and Granada (so yeah Udinese play in black & white stripes - blimey, must be true), yet the Ashley investment in multiple clubs might be worth keeping an eye on. Though I assume he can't take too large an interest in us through buying shares given his Newcastle ownership. Still, by other means he could and the "sharing" of players between Pozzo's clubs is destabilising, especially for the smaller clubs. As I say, it is massive speculation but an interesting read and theory all the same.

Midsblue
2 + 2 = 5 springs to mind I can understand why Ashley wants to buy into Rangers. Club in lower leagues, financial problems, shares at lowest levels and sponsorship rights up for £1. He's plastered Sports Direct around the club to sell his gear. Stretching the joint ownership allowances on the basis so when Rangers get the Scots Prem and back into Europe hell cash massively. Oldham is a clear sponsorship deal and he cannot buy into Oldham at boardroom level. Rules don't allow. If he did then is it a problem? He buys and sells with the aim of increasing the value of his assets. Even if he loaned us players to get us promotion, it'll mean more exposure for his Sports Direct brand and selling more shirts...if he gets the quality improved and supply sorted

He is allowed a 9.9% stake in another English club, that's 3x what the trust have for Barry's position.
