underdog
Am bored so flipping though the numerous crappy channels I have and have stumbled across a bbc parliament programme on now. Live debate in the House of Lords over the running of football clubs and giving fans a big voice in the running of and more support for the trust already in place Debating how owners have no passion for the clubs but as a businesses and do they have the right to sell the clubs assets. Mentioned afc Wimbledon Discussing reform. Mentioning the supporters direct movement too - by Lord Watson What's the impact on us? oafc_lover
We're the ideal. Part-owned by supporters and a fan on the board. Perfect model. We're one end of the spectrum. Blackpool and Leeds are the other end. Have to feel for their fans, even if we all hate Leeds.

underdog
Premiership fans have been excluded from the working party group investigating this...yet it was arsenal fans who have pushed for this report. What strange but insightful debate....less debate I must add as they all seem to be agreeing that the English league needs reform.

Don't worry, I'll find it online somewhere! I'm guessing the BBC Parliament channel doesn't have a plus 1 channel!
c.hill12
This was discussed briefly at the last meeting. In principal seems a good idea but still very loose. If you give trusts 10% of a club do u expect them to cover 10% of liabilities?

It was strangely interesting that the wheels are in motion for this to happen and the Gov are committed to it too, yet I don't remember much publicity at all or even out trust mentioning it too...so I will mention it at the next trust meeting on the 17th...if I remember the is..heheh Sorry I could be of any further help, maybe google that lord Watson bloke, sports minister launches supporters initiative at portsmouth last week....surely you will get a hit

I'd like to believe Simon Corney wants stability at the club and runs it well within its means ensuring a long sustained future for us. I also truly believe he has the club and its fans at heart and doesn't. We are absolutely nothing like those clubs.

In terms of ownership structure we're not dissimilar to Leeds/Blackpool etc I trust SC to look after the club. The proof of the pudding is what we're currently eating. But we're still at his mercy. It was only a very brief conversation and shares etc are something i know very little about but i do think labour's proposals need thickening up quite alot.
