The thing with protest is that it loses its effect if you do it at home with no one watching.

If Emily Davison chucked herself under a horse in a field with no one there, it would have been quite pointless.

If you are going to rip up your tickets but not tell anyone, what would be the point exactly?

It's because I think this is different. You are not "fighting for your right". It's a moral issue.

An inividuals moral issue like this shouldn't need to have exposure. Your morals should say what you do.

What we do is our business.

There is nothing wrong in asking people to rethink their own molarity on an issue. I would imagine this is what she is hoping to do.

Is he even worth the :censored: we have received. I mean is he that good? He found his level at League 1 by banging in a few goals before he went down. Now he hasnt played for 3 years & being 26 has probably missed a large chunk of development time. Would we be doing this for Forte (also scored goals at this level)? Or are we just hoping he is superb & miles above what we could get, to ensure the decision was a correct one? Surely there must be an option out there equally as good, witout the hassle?

http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/ched-evans-has-served-his-time--and-other-misconceptions-about-the-convicted-rapist-footballer-9957849.html

Been struggling to find the one article that totally sums up my feelings on the subject.

Found it. Perfectly highlights my feelings on it all.

It's the same old trite and irrelevant nonsense I'm afraid. I was yawning all the way through it.

No remorse (seriously people need to stop saying this.....it sounds SO stupid). Footballers are role models. He hasn't "technically" served his time. Absolutely nothing in the "facts" stated that indicate guilt beyond the jury's verdict.

I would struggle to disagree more.

some of the people who agree with me that Oldham shouldnt sign Ched Evans are beginning to make me want to sign him. I massively resent Corney for putting us in this position, I don't want Evans playing for Latics but I also think the 'radical feminists' (their words not mine) who are haunting social media would eff off and fight a real cause. Female Genital Mutiliation? Nah. Islamic State selling women as sex slaves in markets? Nah. Women being forced to wear veils? Nah. Rape sentencing that puts people like Evans out on the street so soon? Nope. Ah yes, let's whip ourselves into a frenzy over a League 1 football club that none of us have even heard of before. Many millions of women around the word suffer and these people say <expletive> all about any of it.

He's out of prison and if you think sentencing should also mean that your punishment should continue once you're out then go and badger your MP to change the laws of the land. I don't want him at my club and I can't believe Latics have gone down this destructive path but do I think Evans should never play football again? No. Should he still be in prison? Perhaps but that's nothing to do with Latics. Do I think getting off your head, smashing your car into another and leaving them there to die while you hide out until your system is clear was worse? Yes but would seem I'm in the minority.

To be frank I am not surprised we have a different view on this subject. We do on most things.

Go on then. Disagree with some reasoned argument. Please.

Tell us how he has shown remorse if you think that's wrong.

Tell us how he has served his time if you think he has.

Tell us what on earth "guilt beyond the jury's verdict" means!

That's a very odd statement to make 0000. I don't think we've conversed in years. Maybe a rebuttal would be in order if you think i'm wrong.

The club is certainly not looking forward and it could help to push a generation of youngsters into the arms of the Manchester clubs.

Maybe it will also will affect TPs youth team recruitment?. Edited by BP1960

1) What reasoned argument?

2) I've said it at least 5 times now and so have others. Why would he show remorse if he believes he didn't do it? It beggars belief that people don't get this.

3) He has served his incarceration. This to me is the only relevant factor. Who cares if he can't go abroad?

4) The only "fact" provided by this journalist that supports the notion of Ched Evans' guilt is that of the jury's verdict.
