jsslatic
It does feel as if he's being targeted for some of the physical stuff recently - they were hammering into him at Rochdale, Wabara's tackle was nasty last week and, well, how the Yeovil lad wasn't sent off on Saturday was beyond me. A potential leg breaker for me that one... Good on him that on each occasion he dusts himself down and carries on - but I do wonder why it seems to be him in particular getting the rough treatment. Chaddy_Ender
It started at Barrow pre-season when they literally kicked him off the park I think he was taken off in the end for his own safety, some of the challenges he has been on the receiving end of in recent weeks have been rough, it says one thing though and that is teams must rate him to single him out, like you say though fair play to the lad doesn't seem to dent his confidence and is a constant threat bombing down the left flank. He plays very wide and is left footed only so is an easy target to squeeze and bundle over, you are right opposition see this and realise if you give him little space for a run he's not going be very effective. I should think the Latics do the same amount of homework on opposing players.
WIZZO83
I also believe its because he is a threat going forward, after Wabara tackle and subsequent booking Mills didn't try and take him on for the rest of the game. Perhaps its known that once he is hit he loses interest in getting forward.

He got clobbered at Dale and still kept getting forward
BP1960
But that's not the case. He got clobbered at Dale and still kept getting forward I think he has learned to ride these sort of tackles and can see them coming, otherwise his career won't last long. deyres42
He gets clattered because he goes to ground every time someone breathes near him and the oppo probably fancy their chances of getting a reaction out of him.
MAC0AFC
na, i rate mills... he never shys out of a challenge and 9/10 times wins every header, got a bit of everything - probably our most consistent along with wilson and kelly. Consistency is what managers strive for, and it's no coincidence Mills, Kelly and J Wilson are first picks when available. BP1960
what makes you think they don't? The Yeovil centre back Arthurworrey (at 6' 5" hardly unoticable) supposedly marked by Daniel Johnson leading to a goal just makes me wonder a bit. NewBlue
I felt like at the beginning of the season during his and the team's poor form he was actually going into tackles too strongly himself - as though he was aiming to injure the player rather than win the ball - which led to him missing some tackles or being exposed. rosa
He's got blond hair and brown eyebrows. If I was playing I'd put him into the hoardings as well.
whitey1980
I am a big Mills fan, and think his pace and willingness to commit forwards are key whatever system LJ chooses to employ. Despite this I was concerned about him on Saturday. He was very reluctant to press into the space given to him and his touch (one of the weakest elements of his game) deteriorated rapidly. He has been key to many of our better performances, and we certainly need him driving the team forwards and providing the width on the left. We also need the ball to be released quicker centrally to encourage those attacking runs.
BP1960
I wonder how Mills would fare on the left wing with Elokobi at left back?, just a thought - not that I would like to see much more tinkering about at the present time.
