HarryBosch
That sounds far too sensible an idea to ever happen
opinions4u
Coventry (h), a Port Vale (a) and MK Dons (h) are also Tuesday fixtures. I think Coventry and Vale are both out of the FA Cup too.
Chaddy_Ender
Swindon will be away at Fleetwood on the 3rd both are out of the cup.

rudemedic
Port Vale's league game will be on. They were due to play Gillingham, who are also out MK Dons is still a possibility as they were due to play Colchester who have Cardiff in the cup. However, they have their "replay" against Chesterfield to play still, so that possibility is very small
ShireBlue
Port Vale are out of the cup. Would much rather go there on a Saturday than a Tuesday. Edit: scrap that. Edited December 16, 2014 by ShireBlue
opinions4u
Port Vale playing Gillingham. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/port-vale/fixtures So that only seems to leave MK Dons, assuming they lose their rematch with Chesterfield. Oh well, good theory while it lasted.

Feck me they've not exactly rushed to get it done before the third round. Ah well, I might have to go to the mother-in-law's now.
Chaddy_Ender
Think I will go and watch Ashton Utd play FC United or Curzon at home to Ramsbottom.
BP1960
We could arrange a friendly at home to a top German team..aren't they on their winter break.over to you Frankfurt boys.
josh_latics
Ignoring the lost revenue from not being in the 3rd round, this might be a blessing. 3 games in 9 days, then 10-12 days off for the players to re-energise and have a second half push. Bit like a winter break!

Bit like a winter break! Couple of problems we seem to play better when we have midweek games and it didnt stop Doncaster beating us after doubling up, Id much rather be playing on the 3rd than sat twiddling our thumbs. help_shiny
rather than wait for an Eintracht game that will probably never come perhaps Latics fans should have a 'fanfreundschaft' with a local non league team. Tameside, for example, seems to have a score of them at a reasonable level (or for something more rudimentary there's Chadderton). Then when you're at a loose end because Rochdale are inexplicably still in the Cup then just turn up there en-masse. It'd probably be a lot of fun. And a huge bonus for whichever club's ground was invaded for the day. A few hundred of you roaring on Mossley away to Northwich Vics (who play in Flixton for some reason) would blow away the festive cobwebs
help_shiny
scratch my above fixture suggestion - as pointed out higher up Ashton United are playing host to that shower from down the road. Go on....you know you want to
Aarondo Westy
It's cutting it mighty fine if the rematch is next week. And that might need a replay too. I think the game Is to be played like a reply so if a draw after 90 mins straight to extra time and pens if needed
