Glad its on a tuesday night now to be honest rather than the sat. The atmosphere tends to be better at night matches even when the fans are 16 miles apart.

Would have loved to stick Dale in the small RRE and us pack the large section. Atmosphere would be mental but can see why the police wouldn't want that lol.

Still we have more segregation with the (albeit) small gap in between sections than teams like City where the fans are pretty much next to each other but with a line of stewards.

Saves the club a few £££ too I suppose.

To be fair, it's yet to dawn on the Dale fans that this is anything other than a local fixture. Their 'traditional' derby over the years has been with Bury (because they've been in the basement division many times together) and those matches have been quite tasty.

Doubt they will bring above 1100/1200 to ours.

Don't really understand this mindset/excuse. I don't feel any rivalry whatsoever with Dale but went to the away fixture there because it was local and Latics were playing.

Other than if you're skint I don't see why you wouldn't travel an extra few miles to watch your team play, whether it's a fierce rivalry or not. It has little more inconvenience than any home fixture and let's be honest, BP is hardly The Den when it comes to intimidation...

Haven't you heard about the biffo scum? Scary, them lot. As I've pointed out quite a few times, if they don't care about us why was it their biggest league attendance in 20 years? As for Bury, I've always considered their rivals Bolton. They won't bring many because it's all ticket, Tuesday night etc etc...

Early in the season Bury played Bolton in the League Cup on a Tuesday night and took about 2500 fans. Although it must be a good 15 years since they've shared a league so you have to assume some of the rivalry has dried up despite that following. Bolton have done bigger and better things so the gulf in size of the clubs will have dramatically increased. I wouldn't contest that Rochdale's biggest rivals are Bury, and vice versa, considering they've shared a league for the longest and there seems to be genuine animosity, but as you say, Dale must overplay their indifference towards Latics, as the attendance fact shows. Factoring in the locality of the fixture and that they're performing at what might be the pinnacle of their club's history there shouldn't need to be a rivalry for them to bring enough to make a decent atmosphere anyway. If you're prepared to go to Spotland on a Tuesday night, unless it's financial, why wouldn't you go to BP?

Just had a look at their forum and one excuse is '£22 for a crap view'! Clearly never been to BP before as most of our fans consider it to be the best view in the ground! There's moaning we're putting them in an end stand, like 80% of other clubs do with away fans. And a suggestion they should boycott the game made me laugh. The excuses are all ready.

Is it actually all ticket for Dale fans? Ridiculous if so, unless it's a money saving exercise.

The Tuesday night/all ticket/cost thing is giving them an excuse in advance for bringing a crap following.

We took 3600 that first time for the cup game, it's 6 miles away for gods sake, I bet many of them travel just as far to go to Spotland. I've never seen them or Bury as rivals, but it's an opportunity to see my team away from home without any real travel issues so I always go.

Hopefully they'll be pre-occupied.

Hopefully Doncaster will be as well, ahead of their replay.

We're now 14th. 3 off the play-offs and 7 off relegation.

It's hard to believe we could be 7th at the halfway stage of the season with a measley 33pts.

Even with a modest return of 6 points from our last 4 games could have seen us cruising in a play off spot.

As it is the 10 teams outside the playoffs are seperated by just 3 points and any of them are capable of a good run during the second half of the season.

It really is bloody frustrating supporting this club!

With Rochdale making FA Cup 4th Round and if it ends up away this rearranged fixture will mean nothing to our traveling fans even becomes bottom of the list priority as 4th Round just 4 Day's later and even lower crowd on the actual night down to less than 450 if your lucky at 22 per person

It's no excuse just the facts that Boundary Park is nothing special one of the coldest stadium's on a Tuesday Night in January, FA Cup 4th Round is far more appealing fixture benefits Dale far more & The fact your club want's 22 pound and that it's been kept All Ticket because your fans can't behave away from home
