The club has been for sale for years now but at a price set by SC.

Does this mean price will be reduced for a quick sale on condition new owners commit to finishing new stand?

Does it also mean the loan via Blitz & Gazal doesn't need paying back until OAFC are in Prem or does that end when SC leaves?

Could Simon sell effectively for £0 as long as new owner takes on the loan, honours the 3% from the Trust and commit to finishing the stand?

Contrary to what some think on here, will be a sad day should Simon leave. He's first to admit he doesn't have the finances to take us to the next level quickly but will do it conservatively without once again bankrupting the club. New stand to fund on-field activity, wheel and deal with players - some controversial as we seen last week - to buy cheap and get best return on field or resale value.

This could all be the fallout from Simon licking his wounds after having to concede defeat on Evans. I was against it for moral reasons but we would have signed a talented footballer on the cheap. Exactly what we do but the baggage he came with was too much and rightly so. Simon doesn't like defeat so understandably he's considering his position.

Also remember; better the devil you know....the next owner could be another Moore but they could also be a McAnthony, who in my opinion, that type of owner would be brilliant for us.

Might not be bad news, all depends who he sells to.

If he does what he says and sells to someone with the best interests of the club.

Personally I think this is needed.

The issue will be finding anyone (fit and proper) to come in and take on a loss making L1 club with a reputation destroyed after last weeks debacle.

According to who?

I don't see is in the daily's no more

No, but people do remember. It being in the paper now isn't the point.

With a club like latics, Joe Bloggs wont know if there have been new owners, they will remember last week though. When it comes to attracting sponsors and perhaps businesses to use the stand, unfortunately I think some damage was done last week.

Obviously the Ched Evans saga is a big part of this, however is the lack of activity on the new stand an even bigger driver for this?

During the end of season dinner I asked what he wants to walk away as the club has been up for sale for 8 years. He said £2.5m plus the sale of the some of the land. They would strip all the potential "housing land". He indicated around £5m for the land the club sits on.

Clearly this is not attractive or he would have sold his stake along time ago.

Where could he get a valuation of £2.5M from? The club is worth Zero and they will have to just write off the accumulated Losses of some £6M

Without doubt it will have played a part plus many other stuff in the past no doubt.

The best deal for any new owner would be all the land still left intact plus the club...at the right price of course.

I disagree. Maybe being further away I see it differently. People have very long memories. Prior to this week, whenever I talked about Oldham, they remember Andy Ritchie, they remember the riots to a lesser extent.

Any Ritchie, Joe Royle. Just think how long ago that was. 25 years. And yet they remember

For many, it is their only memory, as they don't see Oldham, and Oldham Athletic in particular, in the news.

It's not about Oldham fans we, of course, move on. It's the wider public perception.

The only reminder's we'll get our the oppo's team fans giving out banter. Will they really care? no.

So your point is.... Always take on the view point and morals of the person in charge ? because they might throw their toys out of the pram and walk away...

:censored: that...

Sometimes it's justified other times it's not. Every point can't be wrong like every point cant be right. Do you see the point? nah :censored: that.
