mikejh45
I think that is precisely the reason why Lockwood needs to come in. PNE will pin us down and wear us down like Swindon and we need leadership and organisation. Lockwood brought out the best in Wilson last season in difficult circumstances. Our performances even when we have won games have been less thsn convincing. At present, we have one leader on the pitch in Kelly and even his standard has dropped off....others who have captain's experience such as both Wilsons have looked lost. We need Kelly back to bossing midfield with Jones instead of covering missing defenders. All that LJ seems to be doing is reusing the same sticking plaster to mend the problem and it ain't working. We wouldn't be dusagreeing over Lockwood if LJ had integated him during the last couple of ganes. If he had played against Orient instead of Kusunga, then possibly wouldn't have been caught out of position.

mikejh45
PNE do not play anything like Swindon at all Doesn't make any difference who we play, we still look all at sea defensively.
Chaddy_Ender
Doesn't make any difference who we play, we still look all at sea defensively. Theres no doubt at the back end of last season Chubs and Lockwood got us organised I think we let 7 in 10 in and although neither would of been the first name on the team sheet it worked, J Wilson flourished playing alongside Lockwood and the back 4 as it stands cant have many more chances to sort it out. The only way I would start Lockwood is if the League allows us to play with 12 men as we are so bad at the back...
HarryBosch
Are some of you actually pretending that we won't piss this in "Typical Latics" fashion?
mikejh45
Now I know a bit about football rules and enough to know we can't play with 12 men. Jeez, we have enough of a problem that 11 players can look like a 5-a-side team. So, TheBigDog, what's your solution?
Chaddy_Ender
We cant cope with the extra man, we tried it against Crewe at home and lost.

ddot_m
I doubt Lockwood will feature... If he is fit he is certainly not match fit and seems more interested in filming games at the back of the main stand upper...
Hands on
We seem to have stopped thinking about Saturday. Two losses, lots of injuries and team down because LJ has gone. Looks like a win. I'm only joking! 9 points for safety.
4froale
Today is a new day, the manager may be gone but what remains is that we are just two points from the play offs. Lets hope that we get as many as we can in to boundary park and get behind the players for what is a massive game.
BP1960
After recent events Preston will be expecting us to lay back and accept defeat, call their bluff and go after them from the start.

BP1960
Now that's irony. I must be going soft, I'm mellowing in my old age. Don't worry, I will see the doctor about it and get back to my usual self soon. Edited February 26, 2015 by BP1960
