I hope Holden is ruled out after that sack of :censored:e yesterday...

Mourinho has just won the Premier League by beating the scum 1-0 without his top scorer with the same formation.

Redfearn would be a good fit and we might get some free transfers from Leeds just like in the good old days

Corney should offer Neil Redfearn the job, it's looking unlikely he's going to be at Leeds next season with his contract expiring, he's also had his assistant taken away from him by the clown of an owner and 6 first teamers have been told they can't play today, if we offered him the role here he could have full control of team affairs/transfers worth a punt ?

Just make sure Redfearn doesn't speak to Paul Dickov...

Or maybe the template for how to contain a team who are better than us?

I don't think yesterday will have done his chances any harm..

Not better than us just more consistent. Few teams above in the league above including Dale and Fleetwood who we took 12 points from without concedeing. Consistancy would have seen us in the playoffs

Even 50% of the time would have helped

Exactly, at home against the bottom 7 we have P7 W1 D2 and L4. Against the bottom 5 we have P5 W1 and L4.

Win 4 more games from that lot and we are there or thereabouts currently. Factor in Saturday's non-event being a close game, it would both make us a lot more money (due to the bumper gate we would have got) and give us a reasonable chance of being in the play-offs with 2 games left playing sides who have their flip-flops out. (Walsall would be much safer if we had beaten more teams below them).

Nah, he'd be decent for us.

Tranmere are a blot on his record but he's always done alright everywhere else.

He did well at Vale, he seemed a decent appointment at Tranmere with his record. Only having 24 games is hardly time given their dire predicament. But his record would get 62 points over a season. So better than it looks.

But a no from me notheless.

It's thoroughly depressing idea that we'd be setting out to 'contain' Chesterfield, at home, in what for Latics was an end-of-season dead rubber game.

Granted our squad was hit hard by injuries/ illness.....but if I'd had prior warning that that was how we were going to approach a dead game then I'd have spent my £22 elsewhere. It was truly awful.

I thought exactly the same. That was really boring. If we needed a point for safety, then fair enough. Otherwise, at least try to entertain and justify the entrance fee. Try that young lad upfrant. Anything other than damage limitation for an end of season nothing game.
