The Run In

Recommended Posts

Anybody else more excited for it than before? I felt it had gone rather stale and a lot of optimism had petered out. A couple of decent wins, granted, but we hadn't played great, then the two defeats against bottom of the league.

It's so unpredictable now. Latics as a club and the league itself. The right appointment could send us on a run that we need, the wrong one and we may be cut adrift. Some cracking local aways to come and a few spicy home fixtures that should bring bumper gates if we're still in contention.

I'm not happy about today, but I'm more determined for us to reach the top 6 in spite of Johnson.

Come on Latics...

We're being managed by Dean Holden and Adam Lockwood. No, I'm not excited.

This is nothing like a new manager bounce. It is an old manager deserting what could easily be a sinking ship. The voices will be the same but the most important two will be missing. I'm sure Holden and Lockwood do have a future on the management coaching side but throwing them in at the deep end two points off 6th against Preston is asking too much. Even asking Gary J to see us through to the end of the season would be better. Been there done it and he must know more about our team than any other manager - look at the way he destroyed us in the 4 0 gift from son Lee.

Or is it a good time as we might not expect to beat Preston anyway and a draw or win will be seen as a good result for them?

The run we need will only put us in the playoffs. That's not promotion.
