I'd offer Brown, Turner and Morgan Smith extensions.

And Forte, obviously

Kusunga I can't make my mind up about.

He's never had a proper run in one position in his defence.

But maybe that's because he's not good enough....

You'd let George go? (Not saying I don't disagree, just wondering)

Yes George can go, poor when he came back from injury and liable to break down again.

I hope the next manager (I suspect its a done deal) will have seen recent games and ditch many of the failures.

We were 5th not that long ago. This squad doesn't need a wholesale clear out again in the summer just because we're on a bad run. It needs a bit of tweaking, but more experience and quality and the right manager to gel them together.

It depends what money he's on and how likely he is to stay fit.

It's not just the spells out injured, he's a liability for the 5 or 6 games it takes him to get back into the swing of things when he does return

This is very true. We have to factor the injuries as a casuse of the bad run. Some of those playing would be expected to play a handful of games as part of their development rather than chucked in at the deep end.

During our post-Christmas slumps of seasons past, I've looked at the 11 in front of me and been happy to turf them all out and start again.

At least last night I could see Forte, Jones and Winchester. Even Philliskirk looked lively when he came on.

Aside from those 4 though...TAXI.

  • 2 weeks later...

How many of those minutes has he played well?

Not saying i'd get rid, but he's done :censored: all.

Only time I've seen him was at Orient when he did little but it would be hard to single anyone out from that game. I'd guess that he's played less minutes than it took for people to realise that Kelly wasn't useless.

I think its fair to say that Murphy hasn't done a lot to impress anyone yet.

But there are lots of players that started off badly and become good/great players for the club so I think he should be given time - espeically as you can provide a list of reasons for lack of output so far:

Unfit

Joined a team not playing well

Manager that recruited him left

Temporary manager in place

I think it would be better to judge him 10-15 games into next season with a full pre-season behind him.

Didn't he win us a penalty?
