Visiting every ground in the 92.

Recommended Posts

How do you all think this should be done?

To me there isn't much point unless I am going there with Oldham. A game I don't care about that I probably won't remember just to say I have been to a ground isn't for me.

I know a lot of people just like to say they have been to a ground but what is the point in that?

Also do Friendlies count? Or do they have to be a league or cup game in your opinion?

I'm on 81 at the moment. Was 82 last season, but I've lost Cheltenham and Tranmere and Barnet have come up, where I've never been.

The majority of mine are watching Latics, but I've been to Sunderland, Boro and Morecambe to watch games that Latics haven't been involved in. I count the club visited as opposed to the current ground (eg I've been to Highbury, but not the Emirates...)

For me it is current grounds. It doesn't have to be with your club but I agree that I don't really see the point in going to random games just to tick the ground off.

Of mine, the only 2 I've done not with Latics are City and Bolton (one with England and one a Latics reserve game). Friendlies definitely count.

The actual 92 club rules are too restrictive as they state that if a club gets relegated to the conference and then comes back up you have to revisit their ground after their promotion even if you'd already been in the past. That doesn't make sense to me.

Has to be with Oldham. And no, friendlies don't count.

I'm on 86.

Morecambe

AFC Wimbledon

York

Newport

Cambridge

Barnet

In your rules maybe I count the few grounds I done with England and friendlies otherwise what chance have some fans got of getting the 92.

Only count them if I have watched a game not a staduim tour or nosey so long as you have done one ground it's classed as ticked off,

So long as you have watched a football ground at the ground it's ticked off also.

Just as a side note, the club's I've yet to see a game at are Palace, Newcastle, Watford, Ipswich, Fulham, Fleetwood, Coventry, Shrewsbury, Newport, Wimbledon and Barnet...

Grounds I not been to are

Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Spurs, Stoke, Sunderland, Watford, West Brom, Birmingham, Boro, Fulham, Ipswich, Reading, AFC Wimbledon, Barnet, Cambridge, Oxford and Newport.

Burton is anew ground but done there old one so no closer to the 92 be the same with Cardiff and Brighton next time we play them.

Yes. Doing the 92 is just that - doesn't matter if Latics were playing or not

By all means if people want to have a "watched Latics in a competitive match at all 92" category then go for it.

However visiting a ground, looking at its architecture, getting a feel of its atmosphere, sitting/standing with home supporters is good for many of us. And it's a lot less stressful without Latics...,

Think it was Diego who shared a website a while back which a group of fans had put together for those who had done the 92.

I'm not in a rush to complete all 92 but I'm pleased to have made it to about 60. The only two of those that haven't been with Latics are Manchester United and Manchester City. I am counting them because I don't count it as a box ticking exercise, I'm happy that I've been able to follow Latics as far as I have because there are too many people that wouldn't be able to for various reasons.

Why following someone else's arbitrary rules?

Why not have a couple running concurrently One for Latics and one for watching any game.

Even one that includes non league. There is possible overlap, or you could do both individually. Entirely up to you and unless you are a slave to there's opinions (which I doubt!) do what suits you.

Agree that just visiting a ground or a tour doesn't count, but you could have a 92 just for that if you wanted.

I have a mini one for concerts I've attended.

I downloaded an app called Groundhopper which allowed me to plug in all the games/grounds I've been to... It records both old and new grounds, non-league and foreign.

I've been to 77 grounds worldwide, 74 in England.

I've been to 402 games, 326 of them watching Latics.

Most visited ground Boundary Park, 217 times.

I've seen us play Sheffield United 11 times and only see us win once.

I've been to Maine Road watching Latics 9 times with a 4W 3D 2L record. Such a shame they knocked the bugger down.

The leading 3 Latics games attendees are;

Adrian France 1,135

Prozac 970

Gary Davies 678

As long as you've seen a game there it counts for me.

80/92 in some form or other (Old or new counts). (Only ground not involving Latics is St. James' Park where I watched England/Azerbaijan)

Overall been to 120 League Grounds old and new. Add in another 40 or 50 non league, Scottish, IOM, Spanish etc...

It's actually 939 games competitive Andy - although I've included a few friendlies on Ground Hopper. I want to hit 1,000 competitive games before I'm 40 in Feb 2017, which I think is some achievement averaging around 32 games a season since the age of 9 is no mean feat. Bearing in mind it took me 7 years to hit the first 100.

Remaining grounds I need are

Newport, Barnet, AFC Wimbledon, Cambridge, Burtion Albion, Fulham, Ipswich Town, Watford, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Palace.

Swindon's a favourite - 4 visits = 4 wins

Vale Park has been the scene of some :censored:e days but I have seen wins there in '96, '08 and 2015. My most visited other Ground after Old Trafford (England games and Grand Finals)

Maine Road has been good to me too only 2 defeats in 6 visits.

Been to Deepdale 8 times and only seen 1 win.

Oakwell 7 times and no win
