Sarcasm - the use of irony to mock or convey contempt.

 

Irony - the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.

 

Irony rather than Sarcasm in the original post I'd say. And even then it was not that obvious hence the the disbelief.

 

Mr Burns as articulate as ever too...

It was neither sarcasm nor irony, it was observational humour.

Your incorrect overarticulation is irony ???
