Latics v Posh

Yes. Never underestimate the people of Oldham's love of a freebie....

Went to get tickets at lunchtime and two of my workmates, who have no interest in football, came with me to get 4 tickets each. One of them has so little interest that she texted her partner to say she'd got free tickets for "Oldham v Tottenham", then "sorry I mean Oldham v Plymouth".

This is the worry. Are people that have got these tickets actually going to turn up?

Yes. IN GENERAL, these people will turn up, sit in somebody elses seats, ask stupid questions like 'which colour do we cheer for?', complain that it's cold, ask people to stop swearing, leave after an hour and then won't come back.

Hopefully it gets a few people hooked tho, then it will be worth it.

There will be just short of 10 000 there.

On reflection, I'm going in the chaddy end.

Least it's not summer and we don't have to put up with the token bellend sat there in a United shirt

There will be some that only come for the one free game, probably the majority, but there will be some that this is the game that grabs them.

Back in 1982, Joe Royle came round my school and did an assembly and gave out free parent and child tickets to those that wanted them. I think pretty much to whole class took the offer and went to the game.

A rather exciting 2-2 draw against Newcastle followed.

I know that there at least 3 of us still going 30+ years later.

I went to the big bash at the Gabba a couple of weeks ago and I got a ticket close to where my season ticket seat is for the Lions.

Well, that same bellend was sat in my fekkin seat.

I feel so violated

Wash your mouth out, then when you get to the ticket office to claim your refund have the grace to apologise.

For the ultimate in karma, I snagged my front tyre on the kerbs on Furtherwood road putting a 50p-sized hole in it. So it's cost me £45 this match. :-D

FML.
