chickenbaltipie
Just having a read of Simon's Boardroom programme notes from Saturday, page 43. The last few paragraphs refer to 'special visitor' to the game, 'Gareth Chopper Hopkins' Has anyone else heard of him? I don't recall such a player forming a lethal partnership with the likes of Aldridge, Barnes and Beardsley?! The most bizarre story I've ever read.... can anyone shed some light on this? He was also signed on trial at 31 years old by my calculations... Kenny Dalglsih scouting at the Warwick and District cup semi final.. really?! Gareth Chopper Harkins maybe! bozman
Corney's attempt at humour I suspect Yeah. There was another attempt at humour in that column too. He said that work on the completion of the North Stand would re-commence very shortly.

Fred Perry
Sorry I took a while to respond, but I had found the same article bemusing! Was SC completely scammed by this guy, was he actually at the game, if so who the hell was he? Maybe you should drop a line to Gordon, the Programme Editor at the time?
