Hi guys,

So i'm close friends with the above mentioned, I've not had a chance to get down to Boundary Park yet this season but noticed your picking up results and pushing up the table :) Good news.

Basically i just wanted to know your thoughts on Josh? What do you reckon to him? Personally never thought he was a RB think hes better in RM/CM IMO his set piece taking skills are second to none, is he on Free kick and corner duty for you guys?

This is not fishing for compliments for him in the slightest just want to get a honest feel for how you guys think he has done, and would you like to see his contract extended past the end of this season?

I wouldn't say he's been a disappointment. Partly because I think expectations weren't particularly high in the first place.

He's a solid enough right back with his set piece ability being a welcome bonus. Did OK on Saturday. Think he was let down a bit by our summer recruitment which left us short in some areas but had him competing with 3 or 4 other right backs.

He'd be a good squad player for next season.

He scored from right back early on in the season but has been largely anonymous on the rare occassions he's played since barring a great free kick goal in one game and a last minute own goal to lose us a good point in another!

It's harsh to judge on the little we've seen on him but, if you're asking me to  , I'd hope we replace him with better next season! Sorry.

Freudian slip?

To be honest from what I've seen of him he looks like an average sort of right back at this level, although his free kicks are exceptional compared with anyone else in our squad.

We had a couple of free kicks in great positions against Charlton. that would have been tailor made for him, but as he wasn't on the pitch, Banks took them and they were poor to say the least.

Thanks for the replies guys. Like i said wasn't looking for compliments just wanted to see how hes getting on as ive not been up yet. Will come to a few games before end of the season though good luck and hope you manage to stay up.

To sum up:

Not the best player in the league or the team, but not the worse, honest pro with a good free kick. Sound about right?

I'm struggling to form an opinion on him. One of Robinson's coasters perhaps.

Only time I saw him in midfield was against Shrewsbury, where we got overrun and he hid from the ball - was delighted when he was taken off.

At right back he's generally been decent, from what I've seen. I'd quite happily have him as a regular there if not for Wilson.

What matters is the number of games he has played since Robinson left which is few.

He is a great option for some free kicks however he is not one of our most mobile players and this will always limit his chances.

That's about it. Nothing wrong with his game except he's sometimes off the pace.

Really he has always been rapid at the other clubs he's been at in comparison to other players there. Thats surprising.
