whilst I agree Clarke was immense as was Wilson, Riply will and should win it because had the 2nd pen gone in the morlae could have been damaged and we would be a draw away from re entering the relegation zone again. To save a penalty in time added at the end of 90mins is a great achievement ... to do it twice in the same period of added time is just brilliant.... for the morale, for the fans and for the club.

I get it but its a bit like Zlatan winning MOM yesterday after scoring the winning goal. There were better players on the pitch including someone who scored 3.

Man of the match not man of the moment. I understand why he will win and it was amazing (felt like a win) but on another day without Clarke and a bit of luck after he lost a 50/50 in the first half to Smith we could well have been 2-0 down at that point.

Moral on Tuesday will be great for him and rightly so , not sure it will effect the other players game. It wasn't a win at the end of the day.

Zlatan also scored the first goal...

I'm well aware but he got mom for scoring the winner, Gabbiadini scored twice and had a 3rd perfectly good goal disallowed.

Neither were the best performer on the pitch over 90 minutes. The most remembered maybe but that's different isn't it? I think it is...

Does Man of the Match mean 'the best performer on the pitch over the 90 minutes' or does it mean 'the player who had the most positive impact on the outcome of the game'?

For me it's the latter - that's why Ripley and Zlatan are deserved MotM.

Fair comments...but it has to be Ripley as he literally became the Man of the Match. And after having little to do for those 90 minutes still had it in him to make those saves.

I started out thinking Hunt as he had his best game. Then Clarke made that last ditch clearance and was going to be my MOTM. And then Ripley happened. Would love to know who put Banks as MOTM :laught30:

Banks had a decent game, in fact it was his best game for us by a country mile. I have to give it Clarke he is a natural leader, when the other players look at the captain and see what he is doing how can they not give their all.

Wilson will be pushed to RB next game only to give us a bit more of an attacking threat by freeing up Ryan Mc, but his performance nearly matched Clarke's.

Clarke should win this as he was immense for 90 minutes including clearing a certain goal off the line.

Ripley will win it for obvious reasons but in truth he wasn't very busy for 90 minutes and his distribution was shocking.

I thought Banks was poor yesterday. Unless he can play a Hollywood ball he hates just playing a short pass.

So many times he could have sped up an attack with a little pass but he won't. Rather keep hold of it and wait till he can try a ball over top or switch it across the pitch

There are two types of fans where Banks is concerned...

Those who think being involved (which he was) means he's had a good game...

And those who think being involved and being completely ineffective means he's had a bad game

He was the latter all game bar 1 decent forward ball a couple of minutes before half time. Other than that he may has well have been playing for Millwall with his negative, sideways, backwards or totally overhit passing. He fannied about on the ball that much Millwall got all their men back into defence mode with ease all game. Which is when he just went back or smacked it hopelessly out of play.

Think you are being a bit harsh on him there. He put in a few timely challenges on Saturday as well as being the go to man in our midfield, admittedly Milwall gave him time and space so he looked decent.

If Sheridan can get him to understand this then we may just have a half decent footballer on our books...
