  1. For all we know that may be referring to everything, as in seats, facilities, offices and gym all kitted out etc. wouldn't surprise me if they got the thing up and open, ready to hold spectators, for the start of next season, with the rest opening in jan
  2. I think we'll be reet eventually, but you make your own luck in this game. If we put away our chances yesterday we would have probably won the game. We didn't, so the buck ultimately drops with the team/manager, not hard luck. But as for judging LJ, yes results don't lie, but I think if we stand any chance of success on the field we need stability of some kind. We won't get this if we continue to adopt the biennial cycle of hiring and firing managers.
  3. This Can we now get back to the will he/won't he hysterical speculation re emperor mings alleged takeover :-)
  4. Agreed but I also think both clubs (us more so than them) have enough about them to stay up. Was my first game of the season today. Yes we were utter :censored: but I will be there again. Some observations I made - Work on Sidney's crossing and we could have a good one in him, but prefer Montano any day - we have an absolute gem of a player in that Italian right back - Haven't seen him play yet but is Anton Rogers unlucky not to be getting in ahead of Wes? - JCH did more in 45 seconds today than Rooney did in 45 minutes, but I still think Rooney will come good. - McDonald definitely has the potential to get double figures this season, not a bad little fox in the box
  5. One player does not make a team. Yes Baxter was absolute quality, yes he will be missed, but no he is not bigger than Oldham Athletic. Baxter has moved on, the club have moved on, we as fans must move on.
  6. In which case I think Mark is owed an apology by the MEN/Chron
  7. Could have pissed off in January for nothing but chose to sign a 2 year deal so that the club could make some money on him if he were to move on, money which at this moment in time, is arguably needed to strengthen other areas of the team. If he goes he will go with my thanks and best wishes, and hopefully those of most other Latics fans.
  8. If we score first I think we will win comfortably. If trannies score first can see them reverting to 10 sweepers is a 10-0-0 Not expecting this one to be pretty in the slightest
  9. Exactly, chance for him to keep fit and gain some exposure, chance for us to take a look at him. Win win
  10. Well, if he went the chances are some of his wages may be allocated to the manager to bring someone else in but in terms of bringing in someone else of comparable quality in the same position of the same age, agreed.
  11. They had some big bastards playing for them though !!! Best feed Tarky and Mellor some protein shakes and get em in the weights room for a bit before we play sheff u
  12. Feel for their fans big time. Stinks to see them go under and Portsmouth essentially get away with it. But as harsh as it sounds, something like this needed to happen. For too long, as close to the wire as some league clubs (including ourselves) have whistled, they have survived, and I would say to a certain extent this has caused complacency with some fans of these respective clubs who take the attitude of "someone will save us, someone always comes along". With a club the size of Coventry being liquidated, maybe this will be the wake up call some fans need. Just a crying shame it had to be Coventry, and not Portsmouth or a Prem club.
