I bloody hope so…I couldn’t handle playing second fiddle to Rochdale!

Looks like the Sale of Rochdale to the Ogden family is set to be completed. From the media……. Amongst their other plans they are to establish "a new sports facility", to be used by the first team and academy, while they also pledged to mount a first-team budget befitting a promotion challenge for next season. *********************************** This season would have been a perfect opportunity for us to go up. The prospect of Southend and now Rochdale being in the mix makes it so much harder next season. I fear we could be down here for a while!

He had the same form when he was sacked from his last two jobs by Dundee and in his 2nd spell by Tranmere. He’s had a few promotions but he’s also had a few sackings. There are no guarantees and all I’m saying is I’m not overly confident.

2 places higher and a few points better off is progress I suppose but really disappointing and nowhere near the expectation! The problem is if we set off slowly again next season the supporters will be on the case straight away. Unfortunately, Mellon won’t get any grace period next time and will have to produce from the off….that’s just the way it, that’s football! Do I think he’s the right manager? I really hope so, his CV and past achievements say that he is, but from what I’ve seen so far I’m really not convinced.

He ripped them apart in his last after match interview! Do you think that maybe it’s because of a realisation that he’ll have to work with the majority of this lot next season? The fact that he hasn’t managed to get a tune out of the vast majority of them over 30+ games and 7 months in the job suggests he’s going to struggle. It’s extremely worrying in my opinion!

Well it’ll be a massive decision to give him the budget based on his performance this season. I wouldn’t like to be making it!

Mellon’s been dealt a bad hand, no doubt about it, but based on the job he’s done over 30 odd games would you put him in charge of the budget next season if it was your money he was spending…I’m really no sure I would!
