Latecomers to a professional contract

Recommended Posts

Ernie was a fine example, but another would be Leon Legge at Brentford. There is an interesting (to me being local) article about him here, he got his chance at 24. Of course, Eyrsey was an even more well known example.

Leon Legge

In the same vein, if we were to do this route, I would suggest Tonbridge's keeper Lee Worgan and Frannie Collin.

Legge went when the Angels were in Ryman Prem, and the two players mentioned are holding their own in the BSq South.

I know others have much more knowledge of the non league circuit, but it would be interesting to see the stats how many make it and how many fail after a later in life contract.
