Have to agree - the injury must be far more serious than anyone is letting on. Sack the Physio...

Dean Furman yesterday had an injection as he makes a final push for fitness following his injury lay off. Paul Dickov says the influential midfield man and team captain, who has been out for the past month through a knee ligament injury, is not far away from a return to action.

Don't like this injections business, it suggests something is badly wrong and I would rather him not play for a while and sort it out rather than risk further aggravation.

If something was that bad he wouldn't have hobbled down the steps without crutches to complete the half-time draw. A injection into a knee is probably either a bit of local pain relief or a steroid to ease inflammation. I'd be more worried if I heard he was going back to see a specialist or to have another scan, to have an injection means that the medical team are fairly confident nothing major is wrong.

Hope you are right and it's a one off, but there have been many cases of players having injection after injection and that can't be good thing in the long term.
