Call me a grammar Nazi if you like but the word is HAVE, not OF. It isn't would of/could of/should of, it's would have/could have/should have or, alternatively, would've/could've/should've and it very definitely isn't loan of!

And breathe....

Sincere apologies :jailed:

Fair question. The first loan worried me bur none of us would have expected the club to lose out on half the ST money by us going and winning games. I thought the loan would cover that, but then we went the summer without paying many wages despite having sold players and manager and spent sod all on the potato field.

We then didn't pay for our loan players or hand over ticket money in time.

We didn't pay the tax until 10 to midnight.

We've had bailiffs in.

We've had early season ticket sales.

And we still needed to borrow  £350k to keep the lights on.

Yes, it's worse than last year.

Just caught up with this thread - and it's nice to see the facts (as detailed on another thread) of "mowergate" have now been cleared up. Credit to underdog for holding her hands up too - gracious of you.

I have been somewhat slagged off by some on here for some reason. All I ever asked for was the facts - and as we now have them, this was indeed a nothing story.

Someone has said that I am trying to undermine the Trust. No I`m not - I want it to be a professional, powerful voice for the supporters. Nobody from the Trust should involve themselves in tittle tattle - it reflects badly. The Trust is a great initiative - but I just think it needs to refocus and become a positive force for the good of the fans of the club. Two cracking wins - we are staying up - let's build a real head of steam ready for the start of next season and get some more fans back through the gate. That should be the Trust's number one priority in my view.

It should be the clubs number one priority...not The Trusts!

Yes because smaller creditors would love to jump on an existing WUP to make sure they get almost none of their debt paid.... of course they would.

Its a worry because you seem to be a worrier.  Listen to the match and chill out.

You accuse others about their approach then have the gall to come out with that load of condescending bollocks. Priceless.

When will you start to worry? When the retraction of the WUP (still waiting) never comes and we end up in court on May 8th? When Simons "top up payday loan" from Necarcu defaults and the former CEO of liquidated Chester City FC comes knocking on the door to repossess the club? Or will it be when the gates shut for one last time and OAFC is no more?

I'll give you credit for not being so naive as to the impending pressures the club has (often made worse by shit decisions driving fans away & revenue streams being diverted from OAFC into Simons side company) so pray tell us...at what point will you even bother to start worrying?

I`ve said before I`m not going to get involved in petty arguing boundary. Someone on here from the Trust stated the Trust's number one priority is to ensure the survival of Latics. They have very little influence over that in reality. The one massive way they can assist is by encouraging more support in lots of different ways. More support equals more cash-flow = better chance of survival. It's called a shared aim (of course the club has a responsibility too). If you were to come on here and read some of the Trust members' comments - you might get the impression they are trying to put people off supporting the club and not to actually come and support Latics.

There is a constant stream of negativity - Latics will be here next season - so let's support them instead of constantly having a go about things none of us can really influence.

The Necarcu loan is a concern to as it was taken out with at least one board member not being consulted over or even advised of it.

Don't all shareholders have to agree to accept the charge?

Don't all the board members of OAFC have a clear statutory duty to ensure the business is run properly for both creditors, shareholders and us fans?

Almost certainly not.  In a lot of cases it would be very difficult for companies to get things done if all directors had to be consulted on each transaction.  The company's Articles will set out the directors' authority to enter into such things on behalf of the company.

Do we know categorically if a new loan has been taken?

The registration of a new charge in isolation does not prove it has - one explanation could be this was the refinance of existing borrowings. I acknowledge this is very much glass half full mentality however.

No all shareholders would not have to accept the charge. The Directors are appointed by shareholders to manage the company. The charge was signed by which Mark Moisley in his role as a Director.

I would be very surprised if none had been taken.  I haven't looked at the documents in detail but, having glanced over them, my understanding is that the second essentially supercedes the first and increases the limit of the debt facility.  I can't see why the club would enter into that, unless they were approaching the original borrowing limit.

I can't disagree with most of that.

I moved to Oldham 6-years ago and have only been following the club closely in the last 12-months, so can't comment what has gone on before.

Looking through a fresh pair of eyes there are certainly some.... strange things that seem to go on.

Against this background this is therefore a genuine question. Is it worse and if so why?

They've been in charge 10 years plus now. In their first year or two we were battling for a playoff place and getting 6,000+ home fans.

We now battle relegation annually and get 3 to 4,000 home fans.

Forgive me... I recall we were going out of business when they took over.  Nobody else seemed interested.   So we'd have had a few hundred fans in the umpteenth tier of football on a field somewhere if they hadn't.

Attendances this his year will be higher. I'll go out on a limb and say next year they will be higher again.  Maybe, just maybe, we have bottomed out. I hope so... and I hope you do too.

kowenicki - I was going to say similar - but then thought - what's the point (?) as the comment would only be jumped on by the nice little clique of users that thinks it "owns" opinions on here - and nobody else is allowed to have one different to theirs.

I hope they've bottomed out too - I reckon we're down to a very hardcore support. You may be right - I think there may be a few stragglers who may not renew for various reasons but I honestly believe that the work that the Community Trust does is generating a few new fans.

Attendances seem to be fairly consistent since 2010 based on a quick Google search which would seem to support this.

The community trust has helped generate 5 new season ticket holders in my house. There must be more people like me disillusioned with Premier League football.  It's like going back to a different time going to Latics and I love it for that.

The Club could do more imho to get people in (communication would be a start) but to be fair recent media improvements - This Week at Latics, Ask, Little Latics aren't going to do any harm - I think Sam is exceptionally good.

He said he'd only moved to Oldham 6 years ago and had only been following the club for 12 months. He asked if it was worse and, if so, why?
