Here we go again...

Every now and then we post the biggest issues which are not necessarily football related onto the main page, this is one of those issues.

An anonymous poll will be set up later. Not bothering, just debate is better.

Shocked at the timing. Feels like we're going to have wasted two and a half months of brexit negotiation time.

Either that or she's already coming across issues when negotiating and wants a firmer "fuck you" to the EU.

Corbyn the Clown, Farron the fantasist and Sturgeon the snaffler have a lot to prove.

Whichever way the vote goes is less important to me ( as an outsider) than one party or another getting a clear mandate to negotiate the UK independence talks. Discussing the Brexit with the EU from a divided and insecure base could be a recipe for disaster.

Lib Dem, Labour, SNP coalition?

*Shudder*

I actually like Corbyn and think he does genuinely cares about people but he's surround by the  likes of Thornberry, Abbott and McDonnell who just make it so easy for the Torys.

Corbyn hasn't got a hope because our media has so successfully stigmatised socialism.

Not sure I have ever gone into a General Election quite as disenchanted with the leaders of all parties.

Not generally a conservative, and particularly don't like TMs approach to politics; Labour feel lost, and especially under GC seem incapable of being a decent opposition never mind government; and the Lib Dems who could arguably be in a great position to capitalise on the vacuum and appeal to the 48% Remain minority (and perhaps some of the "soft" leavers) have in TF a nice but invisible man.

May's timed it well to capitalise on Labour's shambolic civil war. And while Corbyn is clearly being sabotaged by nonentities in his own party (whose entire platform seems to be 'we'll do mostly the same as Tories, but nicer') he hasn't helped himself at all with the Brexit whipping and general inability to look like the head of a credible opposition. Farron will get tactical votes - including maybe mine, as the Lib Dems are probably the only party in my constituency with a chance of ousting the execrable Anne Main - but I'm very suspicious of his past statements on building coalitions with the Tories, abortion and gay rights.

I think May will likely get exactly what she's hoping for - a stronger mandate to carry on, because there's no credible opposition and among her non-supporters I reckon a greater feeling of hopelessness and apathy.

Farron won't rule out a coalition with the Tories, despite the fact it pretty much wiped the Lib Dems off the map last time around.  Just goes to show that the majority of politicians are only in it for themselves.

He's an idiot, but not enough of one to set himself up for, "Vote Farron, get Corbyn," posters up in the Tory marginals they're hoping to challenge in.

Pretty much cant be bothered with politicians, the last 25 years has been horrible. The Tony Blair approach ruined politics in this country.

But....  TM at least seems competent.  Corbyn is immature, a hypocrite, largely incompetent and worst of all still acting like he is leader of the NUS.   The other guy is invisible.

[Superfluous Personal Comment]

TM (a remainer) is worryingly incapable of making her mind up and is as competent a leader as some local organisations have. At least you are consistent.

Labour 7-1 to get fewer than 100 seats looks decent value. They have no candidates in non-Labour seats and seats where people are stepping down. Zero. Zip.

They have no national party organisation, unless you count the one run by Karie Murphy and Katy Clark, famed for the ease with which they take offence and their lack of brains.

Corbyn has no chance because he gave bellends like those two £100,000 a year jobs when he became leader rather than someone real.

The lack of Labour preparation is astounding given they've been warning of a snap election for ages. I get having the policies you believe in rather than going all out to win the election at all costs but that's no reason not to make a decent fist of it advocating what you believe

Corbyn is a now a remainer, odd. Has been anti EU his entire political life. He also allowed his kids to go to private school etc etc. He is a political lightweight and worst kind of do as I say not as I do socialist.

His opinion of me matters not, I'm not standing for election. [-indeed, the rest I have removed]

TM doesn't call an election, the left: "you have no mandate!" She does "opportunist! Weak!"

The left is a fucking mess of epic proportion in this country. Abysmal bunch that have betrayed their roots and the people they (have always) lied about helping.

No need for anyone to write anything more on this thread.

The people getting paid the money to do the organising are an absolute shower of useless shite.

So. No TV debates eh?

Empty chair?

or another U-turn.

I did wonder if it's against some sort of election commission rules regarding balance...

After watching her cringemaking interview with Andrew Marr, where she went full broken record to avoid answering the question of whether she was aware of the Trident misfire at the time of the Commons vote to renew the programme, I'm not really surprised she doesn't have the confidence that she'll not make a total dick of herself.

May would crush Corbyn in a public debate (although she's awful at it) but Farron would squeek away at the sidelines and appeal to punters who don't like confrontation, policies or homosexuality without actually saying anything other than, "SINGLE MARKET!"

And he might not actually say much about gays.

Odd as it seems it's Farron that May is avoiding. She can't lose any seats to Labour by going against Corbyn.
