To be fair, he would've been a signing but for the Government blocking his work permit

johnboafc emailed the President of St Kitts & Nevis to try and get it over the line....

Perhaps this is best served by a search of Ibby's posts.

Weren't we rumoured to be after Nile Ranger at one point?

No, but close, that was the Lone Ranger.

Actually, I think Clyde Wijnhard should get an honourable mention when he nearly re-signed for us. Takes balls to have a contract in front of you and slip out the back door.

Purely in terms of protracted transfers, Iain Vigurs must be in a league of his own...

Wilf Mannion from Middlesborough in late 40s. Current England international. £15,000 was the fee but we couldn't raise it.   Equivelant now to 15mil. Quote from newspaper of the day."The greatest scheming inside forward of the day"

Did Rolando Aarons not play a friendly for us?

He either was a unused sub or came on off the bench.

Anyone remember Demar Phillips playing against Grimsby for Oldham in. A friendly 2010 I think it was.

Didn't the fans raise money which was eventually spent on floodlights. Remind anyone of anything?

No . The Mannion money was in fact used to help purchase George Hardwick . Ref Oldham Athletic: A complete record .

Floodlights came ten years later.

Cheers Pete. Still, money intended for a high spec item spent on an inferior version.

Yep, we spunked it on an England captain who got us promoted. Ok, we got relegated again the next season, but You can't have everything.
