League One Weekend Fixture Preview - 14th - 15th Nov 2008

Welcome to this week's edition of League One Weekend Fixture Preview, previewing the League One action away from the Boundary Park camp.

Swindon Town vs. Leicester City
Leicester will hope to make it three consecutive league wins this weekend as they travel south to Swindon.

Managerless Swindon are hoping to welcome back Hasney Aljofree and Lee Peacock from injury. Craig Easton and Michael Timlin are both doubtful and will be assessed closer to kick-off.

For Leicester, Paul Dickov and DJ Campbell will both hope to get back into league action after appearing in the FA Cup last weekend. Marc Edworthy should also return after recovering from injury.

Prediction: Swindon 1-1 Leicester

Bristol Rovers vs. Scunthorpe (Friday)
Scunthorpe will hope for a change of luck in their recent league form on Friday evening as they travel to Bristol.

For Bristol, Aaron Lescott should feature having returned from injury but Steve Elliott will undergo a fitness test before the game. Byron Anthony is sidelined through suspension.

For Scunthorpe, Marcus Williams recovers from injury but will likely take his place on the bench, leaving Michael Lee at left-back. Paul Hayes and Gary Hooper should start up front.

Prediction: Bristol 1-2 Scunthorpe

Leeds United vs. Huddersfield Town
Huddersfield continue their league one campaign without Stan Ternant this weekend as they travel to local rivals Leeds.

For Leeds, Gary McCallister will decide whether to put Jermaine Beckford in the starting 11. Beckford was on the bench for their midweek match in the Carling Cup.

For Huddersfield, Skipper John Worthington and Keigan Parker both return from suspensions. Loanees Liam Dickinson and Steve Jones are also available for selection after not being given permission to feature in the FA Cup last week.

Prediction: Leeds 3-1 Huddersfield

Millwall vs. Stockport County
Stockport will hope to make it five consecutive league games unbeaten as they travel south to Millwall this week.

For Millwall, they should welcome back Gary Alexander and Mark Laird from injury with Tresor Kandol available. Zak Whitbread is sidelined through injury and Jadjim Abdou is suspended.

Stephen Gleeson remains the only absentee for Stockport, as he starts a three-game suspension. Stockport will hope to maintain their unbeaten away record.

Prediction: Millwall 2-2 Stockport


Hartlepool United vs. MK Dons
MK Dons will hope to make it four consecutive league wins as they travel north to Hartlepool.

For Hartlepool, Kevin Kyle should make the starting 11 after rejoining on loan. Willie Bolland remains a long term absentee with a knee injury.

For MK Dons, loanees Jason Puncheon and Luke Chadwick are available to play after being denied permission to feature in the FA Cup last weekend. Carl Regan and Sam Baldock are both injury doubts.

Prediction: Hartlepool 1-2 Dons


Yeovil Town vs. Peterborough United
Peterborough United will hope to keep their impressive recent unbeaten league form as they make the trip to Yeovil this weekend.

For Yeovil, they will hope to welcome back Aaron Brown, who missed their midweek fixture against Leicester. Nathan Smith looks set to feature again after making his injury comeback midweek.

For Peterborough, Charlie Lee will definitely feature after completing his suspension. Chris Whelpdale is sidelined through injury. Scott Rendell will miss out as he is still officially on loan at Yeovil despite returning to Peterborough.

Prediction: Yeovil 0-1 Peterborough

Tranmere Rovers vs. Southend United

Tranmere and Southend will both aim for the spoils as they continue their pursuit towards the playoff positions.

For Tranmere, Ian Goodison will remain sidelined with the same hamstring injury thathas kept him out for three weeks. Bas Savage and Chris Greenacre are set to start, but Chris Curran could play some part from the bench.

For Southend, Hal Robson-Kanu and Lee Sawyer will play their final matches before returning to their parent clubs. Dougie Freedman and Lee Barnard both remain sidelined.

Prediction: Tranmere 1-1 Southend


Colchester United vs. Walsall
Colchester will hope to climb the league table as they host Walsall this weekend.

For Colchester, young loanee Lee Hills could make his debut after arriving on loan. Dean Hammond and Chris Coyne return from suspension and injury respectively, whilst Steven Gillespie and Paul Reid are sidelined through injury.

For Walsall, Jabo Ibehre is suspended and Alex Nicholls should start up front. Walsall have an otherwise fully fit squad to choose from.

Prediction: Colchester 1-2 Walsall

Carlisle United vs. Brighton & Hove Albion
Carlisle will hope to improve their recent dismal plight down League One as they host Brighton.

For Carlisle, new loanee Michael Liddle should feature. On-loan keeper Ben Anwick should also play some part after missing FA Cup action last week.

For Brighton, Adam Virgo is doubtful but Glenn Murray should start after returning. Loanees Bradley Johnson and Stuart Fleetwood are also available.

Prediction: Carlisle 0-2 Brighton


Leyton Orient vs. Crewe Alexandra

In one of two games where the bottom four all play against each other, Crewe make the trip to Leyton Orient.

Leyton Orient have just one injury concern in long-term absentee Wayne Gray. Loick Pires and Alton Thelwell have shaken off knee injuries as Orient try to build on two successive wins.

For Crewe, Michael O'Connor has recovered from an ankle knock a fortnight ago. loanee defender Dennis Lawrence is also available after being refused permission to play in last weekend's FA Cup win.

Prediction: Orient 2-0 Crewe


Hereford United vs. Cheltenham Town
In the other of two games where the bottom four all play against each other, Hereford host Cheltenham.

For Hereford, new loanee Matt Murray will go straight into the squad compete with Craig Samson for the goalkeeping jersey. Richard Jackson, Sam Oji and Robbie Threlfall are all injured, along with striker Moses Ashikodi.

For Cheltenham, Elvis Hammond is available after he signed a short-term contract in midweek. David Bird and Damian Spencer could return but Shane Duff and Alex Russell are unfit.

Prediction: Hereford 0-0 Cheltenham
