Apologies! I have been on a train twice at away games with a fella from here whose dad used to be a miner in Leigh. We've had a few friendly debates over beer - including some political ones, hence my comments about opposite ends of the political spectrum!

Mr Mc - saw your comment regarding the Trust and me - thank you. Don't want to debate it on the thread, as it's a sideshow. I have a lot of respect for AndyB, having met him. However, having given things much thought, I will not join the Trust as long as it retains its umbilical chord to the club. In the absence of a benign owner, independence is what is needed - along with strong leadership. I do not "see" an actual effective strong leader of the Trust presently (I`m sure one of them is quite capable of stepping up to the mark). Like you, I also find some of the posts on the site from Trust members a little embarrassing; doesn't fill me with confidence. As for my second date with AndyB - would you like to come along and play gooseberry?
