  1. I’ll be there… To get a refund for my Halifax ticket, then fucking off to do something that doesn’t make me want to cry.
  2. I was mischievously suggesting that Stats Bomb is programmed to push certain agents’ players up the list, similar to Google ads. Much more likely that we had to throw a chunk of change at agents to get deals such as Norwood’s and Raglan’s over the line in the face of ‘huge interest from other parties’.
  3. I’ve got no idea how it’s used and if it’s at the root of our recruitment issues. I do think it’s worth noting that the two teams in the division using Stats Bomb (us and York), also spent the most on agents’ fees. Causation or correlation?
  4. Ha, I’m thinking now that StatsBomb is a front for a consortium of agents! It certainly begs the question whether they receive a kickback from completed deals.
  5. Beat me to it. This is a change from the original communication which said you could simply email the club.
  6. I’ve seen that the official site has been updated now to say that if you have the physical tickets, you need to return them at the ticket office by 4pm on Tuesday, 23 April.
  7. Regarding Halifax refunds, has anyone got a reply back from the ‘supporter.services’ email black hole?
  8. Ha, it said it had been posted 51 seconds earlier on their webpage, so I thought I had a scoop. Back to my day job, whatever the hell that is.

  10. If he isn’t happy, let him go. If he’s willing to stay, build a team around him that plays to his strengths.
  11. We’ve not done well from attacking corners for yonks. Do many goals actually get scored from corners these days generally, with the fixation on defending / not conceding? Oh, to have an Andy Holden type of player, willing to crash through a pile of bodies to get his swede on the end of a corner!
  12. I imagine it would be preferable to go into their next home game as champions and plan the celebrations accordingly. Away win.
  13. Soz for continuing the Alan Partridge off-topic, but I do like this local reference.
  14. I’d trust that if there is an actual problem with Norwood’s scarper, rather than a confected one, the club would deal with it appropriately.
  15. I’m not so sure the statement was damaging to your reputation, but hey-ho.
  16. All true, and a sad reflection on our recruitment since we came down. So much money spent, so little to show for it. Nathan Sheron isn’t our biggest problem. Sums it up nicely for me.
  17. Seven goals from midfield is decent. The problem for me, however, is the opportunity cost of not having a baller in there. I’m sick to death of watching him fluff a 10-yard pass, or mis-control far enough that his second touch is a tackle. I get it, we’re non-league, but surely it doesn’t have to be this bad?
  18. I came away from Saturday’s game feeling thoroughly cheesed-off. I checked the league table and we were still squeaking into the play-offs though. So, been wondering why I’m so down on Latics, when we’re actually having, what is for us, a really successful season. I’m an ST holder who’s made almost all of the home games this season (missed 5-1 v Aldershot, obvs) with a smattering of aways and a few TV games. Just done the maths and I can see the problem: 22 points gained from 19 games watched. Lower mid-table form at best. Guess I’ve been slightly unlucky, but an uptick in home form would go a long way right now.
  19. Cheers for the kind offer but I’m taking the wife and kids so not sure exactly what time I’ll get there. I’ll give the ticket office a call when they’re next open to see what happens next.
  20. I won’t be able to get to the Latics ticket office now to collect my tickets. Am I correct in thinking that they’ll be delivered back to the York ticket office later on the 20th? I’ll email the club but response may come a little too late.
  21. Cheers. That’s just playing football as I know it. It’s depressing but I can see now why this is being mentioned on the board so regularly. A lot of our players simply don’t do that. Sigh!
  22. I’ve been seeing loads of references to talking the ball on the half-turn (at least three times over the past few pages of this thread). Please can someone educate this football-tactics dimwit as to what this means in practice?
