  1. I thought Gerrard, Byrne and Davies all left before wages became an issue so that is not a reason...….also, according to Byrne's supporters on relevant threads, Byrne wanted to stay.
  2. Because he's now on the cusp of being our next manager and he is going to take us Champions League winners within 5 years...…...c'mon, buy into this!!!
  3. I would add that's why Clarke was always a more sought after player than Carlisle's chumpie.
  4. And all with an axe to grind, I would add. I haven't heard any negativity from Bryan or Doyle but someone may put me right on that. Also, Clarke might have thought his Latics career was over after Wellens let him go out on loan and so had opportunities to comment but he remained ultra-professional and seemed quite matey with AL following the win over Fulham.
  5. Who really knows!!! It's easy for recently departed managers to say it was the Chairman's fault...….they are hardly going to admit to being crap themselves.
  6. I think any improvement in the first half of the season post-Rhodes removal was down to Max Wragg. I also never felt that Bunn knew what to do to change tactics mid-game!!!
  7. Not having that.....PW got them playing with confidence very quickly.
  8. Your opinion but I thought he was better than 5.
  9. Did you not read OWTB Alterative Rulebook Page 5, Paragraph 4, Clause 8, Sub-Clause 3? "Any good news about Latics must not be linked to AL".
  10. If you meant better than Oldham then why not say so in the first instance and be clear because I still read your comment as doing better than Carlisle. And If you had bothered to read my posts you would have seen that a number of people had the same opinion. But I will ask you directly....if an O'Grady/Surridge partnership badly failed and couldn't break down Gerrard/A.N.Other in the home fixture.....does it make tactical sense to play the same two up front in the away fixture? As to your last point....we live in a world of differing opinions however daft you may think mine are and I may think yours are....if you can't deal with that then maybe it's right you walk away.
  11. You posted previously "In general that means he's probably a decent to very good footballer who will go on to betters times elsewhere". That reads like he can do better than Carlisle but recent history suggests otherwise. And your last line above is nonsense in this particular debate. I said Bunn was clueless for not putting pace against him not once but twice. Like I said tactically inept.
  12. We got stuffed at home against Carlisle with O'Grady getting "beasted" by their two big centre-backs therefore giving Surridge nothing to work with. Why would you go into the return fixture with the same tactics and lineup with an expectation of a different result? Getting a 6-0 thrashing up there showed up Bunn's lack of imagination and tactical nous.
  13. And that really worked well in both matches against Carlisle!!!
  14. Hang on.....Maoche takes our set pieces and he was absent for one bloody game not the whole season.....get some perspective!!!
  15. That is a crap attempt at humour and/or logic. If Scholes comes in, it will be to his timetable.
  16. I thought Branger had one of his best games for us. When he went out on the right, I thought he caused enough mischief to tie up two defenders with a third hanging back. Lang showed less on the left hence Nepo overlapping
  17. Really, I mean really.......better times...where for f***s sake? He's found a level that suits his age and physique. And if Bunn was a manager instead of a coach, we would have exploited his physical deficiencies.
  18. There is no maybe....he has been immense on his return considering his age.
  19. Big mistake last season letting Clarke go and keeping the fat, divisive bastard.
  20. Stupid argument because it never happened BUT we have seen several times in the past he gets shown up for pace.
  21. Read back on here, many people said if we had played Surridge and Lang to run at him then results would have been different and would have exposed the gobby lump. Poor team selection by Bunn.
  22. He got rid of Gerrard......plenty of bonus points there for me.
