    The statement I read didn't sound like they were throwing too much money at it. "A budget to give us a fighting chance of making the playoffs" was the main bit relating to football and doesn't scream the new Wrexham or Stockport (hopefully).

    Have you seen LB/LWB Doro @BP1960 Seems to be back playing again and from snippets I've seen he looks promising.

    He's failed miserably - both literally and metaphorically. Not bothered if he quits but unless we have a performance clause we can't afford to sack him.

    Initially sticking with Unsworth for 9 games after mixed recruitment - not correcting obvious deficiencies in the team i.e. no right back, no creativity in midfield, no pace. Possible fallouts since Christmas and horrendous home record. Things can only get better!

    We'll do well to shift 3.5k this time.

    Don't mind him bringing in some players he's worked with before but the problem is that EFL players want decent money to drop down to the NL. We've seen lots of talented players in this league who hopefully would jump at the chance of coming here,wouldn't cost the earth and would possibly have decent resale potential. Unless there's a break clause in his contract based on performance I don't think we've any choice but to stick with Mellon but he's on thin ice with more and more of our supporters.

    He's always been very complimentary about us in his interviews saying we're a massive club etc - sure he'd jump at the chance if approached. Unless he decides to quit I think we're going to find out if Mellon can take us forward next season. Can't be worse than this season can it?

    Can't argue with that but mitigating circumstances around the squad and previous experience should allow the summer to recruit and then see what next season brings. Needs a strong start though or he's under massive pressure.

    Not seen it, probably fair enough I was just thinking typical that our legitimate appeal fell on deaf ears!

    Amazingly Rochdale's red card appeal succeeded where ours failed!

    Yes limping at the end again - needs releasing at the end of the season unfortunately.

    He was only repeating what Mellon said previously - it's all a bit strange and worrying at this stage of the season.

    Release everyone who's out of contract but keep Sutton and Cookson as backup and use the loan market if needed (assuming we're still in the NL).

    Didn't Gateshead lose 4 or 5 of their best players mid way through the season as well as their manager?

    We just need 3 or 4 starters not 7 or 8 squad fillers. We have the makings of a very good side at this level. (Hope it's 3 up next season though assuming we don't make and win the playoffs ).

    The rugby are offering finance for season tickets - get them to sell ours . *Sorry 6 monthly installments rather than finance - that'd do for us though!

    As well as our 4th centre back of the season playing right bleeding back! Still think we might sneak back into the playoffs but equally wouldn't be surprised if Rochdale leapfrog us!!!
