  1. Sky sports reporting Brentford get £500k due to the lad playing last night. Apologies if already reported on here. Gutted we don’t ever seem to get these payments anymore....????
  2. Why is there so much bitching on this forum? For Christ’s sake we all support the same club. Just chill.....it’s so boring reading all these nothing replies (this included)!
  3. Yes SR has had a real bad hand dealt, he knew this when he took the job 4 weeks before the season tho. He wasn't saying how poor things were at the start was he? This is the worst team performance from start of season in anyone's memory, surely? x12 league goals. So many Oldham nil results.... I know we have no money, but please SR walk away.....let us start over, if we're going down, let's go for the jugular and try to attack and entertain....no more Oldham nils please..!
  4. I'm sure they commented on Rochdale's youth approach and had a 5-6 year plan, and now are seeing fruits of their labour...... It got me thinking about out lack of plans for the future and have come to the conclusion that because of our lack our finances we simply cannot... Think about it, managers and players are lasting x1 season max. Any player owned by us, if shows any sort of form or promise, is sold (normally for undisclosed roughly around £250k).....ASAP If Manager shows they are good or decent, they get frustrated with lack of funds and look elsewhere and leave for better surroundings. Also, questions were asked about the going rate for Oldham to be sold but was given a nothing answer of 'too tough to say as don't know what potential buyer would want to buy'. Meaning just the name (effectively) or plus the land or stand etc. What kind of buyer is going to want to buy a club that then has to rent the ground / stand, everything, at this level with this kind of fan base? Who would want to buy us with land and stand at a massively inflated price?! No one, which is why there are no buyers out there!! So SC, we were told, went to China to look for potential investors....great but who would want to invest into what? Nothing? The OEC? Great but that doesn't fund what happens on the pitch....OAFC? Great but where is the return on investment? Massive gamble to invest in OAFC as are reliant on what happens on pitch and with current manager showing only how not to score a goal....for me it's not gonna happen.... The Scoreboard debacle, why did they wait x1 year to then seek a cheaper scoreboard when SC went to China? A year..! Really? This all adds up to one thing, TTA have picked apart and made it far too tough to sell and far to tough to keep us afloat and plan for a decent future. I know some of us fans think SC has done a good job keeping us afloat and maybe he has. But what's also happened is our crowds have shrunk due to chop and change, lack of identity of players etc and quality of football and cost of watching it. I didn't think the phone in answered anything really as answers we didn't already know or gave us any new hope.....
  5. For me, the fact that OEC and Brassbank exist suggests the football club and more importantly things on the pitch isn't SC's or the other two's first priority...... Making profit on the land and stand etc, taking that money from the club is......which to me feels like not the dealings of a true fan.......(whether or not any of us fans thinks it's fair game that the owners wanna do that is another conversation). If any of us fans came into life changing money and bought the club, the stand, the land, everything, do you think PR would be non-existent until something stinking has hit the fan!? And why does whether a fan attends a certain amount of matches have anything to do with whether or not he / she believes SC is an oldham fan or not....it's just adding to divide and conquer which seems to be the retorhic for OAFC....shame I wonder what our wage budget would be if the owners of OAFC put everything related to us (land, stand, everything that has a tie to the football club) would be. Surely not as poor as it is now.... Until TTA officially leave we're going to continue in this downward spiral. Unfortunately no one with more than x2 brain cells that isn't an Oldham fan will buy us....Who would buy a football club with no stadium, stand, land, just the name? Who? Crazy!! So annoying!!
  6. As much as I hate to admit to myself but we prob won't sign anyone worth shouting about as we've no money. We're no attraction for anyone who has more than us as an option, we won't change manager or if we do it'll be way too late. Any manager would struggle with what he was left with but you'd at least go attacking so you could potentially entertain the fans and draw more gates for then having more money to attract better players!! Not play not to lose, shut up shop football and say how good we played but lost again and didn't score again! We're pretty much destined to go down now anyway......whoever we sign.... There I've said it. As crap and depressing as it is, this is the most likely out come...boo!!
  7. Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you're having a great time! Put how bad everything is at BP to one side and enjoy!!! xxx
  8. Peanuts is probably where 80% of us are though. This message board is for Oldham fans to talk about things related to Oldham Athletic. If the likes of Peanuts can't vent to fellow fans where else does he / she do it? Why does it annoy so many of you that Oldham fans are so frustrated about the current climate that they feel they need to articulate their frustrations on an Oldham Athletic message board? If you don't like it, don't go back on the message trail. You don't need to slag the person off........
  9. The football side of the club is effectively being run as in administration already, hasn't anyone noticed this? All sellable assets have been sold, any one and anything that shows as being good gets sold......we're already in admin sadly....just not by an independent ground but by the owners.
  10. Fans can't and won't be able to run the club if we're just about able to find £5k to invest. I wouldn't be able to invest further when a manager cocks things up and needs paying off and then paying for a new one with new players etc.....I certainly wouldn't want to invest in anything TTA have anything to do with thank you very much. They have created the worst atmosphere and outlook at OAFC certainly in my living memory (and I'm 40!!). When Moore tried to turn us over at least their were people who genuinely cared and we all rallied round the club. I would only invest in the club if it meant owning everything related to the club (ground / stand etc). I, in no way, want to fund anyone that has created this set of circumstances and designed what has ruined us (face it that's what happened, we're never going forward on the pitch as as soon as something good happens it's sold). So for me, I could invest but won't if it's just in the name OAFC and will still have SC and the other 2 to pay bills to. Bearing in mind I truly love Oldham and I won't invest, how on Earth can we expect to find someone who doesn't!?? Hypothetical question: How bad do things have to get for the x3 owners to sell everything for what they bought us for??
  11. Well said Philliggi, the vast majority of us Oldham fans feel 100% the same as you do. Couldn't have said it better myself.
  12. Agree Fruitygoo, it's more than likely just the name OAFC.......plus whatever revenue streams the x3 chaps have set up to go to the club (which isn't much it seems). The owners don't have what happens on the pitch as the priority. Making money is king, not for the club but for their back pocket. I don't get how any fans can say fair enough if they owned a business etc. This is football!! The only way we'd be solvent / profitable would be for all revenue streams to go back to the club. Coz then it would just about fund itself. The owners bought the land and have now built houses on some of it. How much land do we have left if sold and any new owners wanted to expand...? The current regime have set up a complete mess if any new owner who genuinely wants the club to grow and expand due to having to buy everything back...... No one ( in my opinion) is going to buy the land, the club, the stand as is way too expensive for all. No one is going to invest in the clubs name as no return on investment (if you're not a fan). All that's going to happen as things currently are is that we'll eventually go bust (years / months down the road - a slow painful death) and the owners will build houses or non-football related activities on the site. It's slow dealth by stealth in plain sight. We all know deep down this is what's happening but not enough of us are willing to accept or to be able to do anything about it (me included). In short (and this is long) the owners couldn't really care less about what happens on the pitch and haven't for years.....gutting really......
