The pressing early doors was immense didn't let a very good side settle and had them panicking. The shape never looked as good when we lost Wilkinson, then (as is customary) we tried to shut up shop too early. They probably could have got at least another goal but then again so could we.
Thought Jones and Mills were excellent ran themselves into the ground and while we tired (understandably with the pressing first half) the backs to wall effort was excellent.
One of the most enjoyable 3 points in a long time
If we'd have beat Yeovil and got a point at MK then we would view this result a lot differently, however we lost those games by an 11-0 aggregate so its hard to take this result in isolation, it starts to look like a rather worrying trend instead of an unlucky home loss. The knock on effect of these games on morale and confidence could mean our season is over much sooner than it looked like it would be a month ago
Threw 3 points away, no ruthless edge. May have been unlucky with certain things but you've only yourselves to blame for not putting away sides of that quality.
The problem is we aren't going to play poor sides like Yeovil and Crewe at home every week, we've returned 0 points from those games so it makes it even more demoralising to think what's going to happen against the better sides!
Can't absolve the players of blame. The was no taking account for their own actions today, arm waving, head shaking and finger pointing yes but no leadership, no real passion. The worst performance I've seen in quite some time
Ref decided from the get gp he was going to let shoves and pushes go, !might not have been correct but he was the same for both sides.
First half showed we can't afford to make wholesale changes just disappointing that Johnson sent out the message to curb the attacking intent, I'm sure we'd rather have seen us concededing going for a 3rd or 4th rather than the meek way we did so
Chubs made an excellent save in the first half, don't remember him having to do much else tho. Think we played within ourselves and inevitably went a little deep as time ticked on. Fine result and keeps the recent winning culture rolling. Job done
Tbf he was poor in his early games, suppose it shows more patience is needed at times but we've had plenty who started poorly and never got any better!
Coventry offered nothing and could be in a bit trouble however don't want to take away from the performance, completely controlled the game and just looked a good all round unit once again
He got away with the first one, took an extra touch and was lucky to get it through the keepers legs. But I take your point, you do fancy him to stick them away when he bursts clear
