  1. 5 succinct points. Well worth consideration and discussion.
  2. I really hope so. But I'm just not getting that feeling right now. This has a feeling of Port Vale from a couple of seasons ago written all over it!
  3. I'm usually Mr Optimistic - but I have to agree. - watching this afternoon's shambles on the OS called "highlights" ?? I seriously fear us seeing anything above 24th all season
  4. I know it's hard going. But like I said at the end of last season after relegation - Latics are in my blood. Dad gave me that, and I'd still rather have this for all it's troubles than be City or United. When it's going well - it's out of this world - think Fulham this year. Then it's followed by Doncaster away where the ref cost us about £750k, and who knows what in broken dreams. Then the play-offs were possibilities again with our own Pete Wild (another local hero) But...… every once in a while - it's Neil Redfearn 92nd minute penalty - - and I still cant watch that without filling up - even at the age of 52! Hang in there 22 - we will come good again one day! That's why we're all still here
  5. It might be at the minute, but us that remember hang on to the "good old days" - when we can . I know you youngsters don't like it, but before anyone starts moaning that we're harking back to the "old days" - we had to wait a long time for them to come around back then as well. It's only happened in one period of my 45 yrs supporting Latics I'm afraid - so we make the most of it when the "anniversary " comes around again. I live in hope in hope that it'll come round again before I pop me clogs - but I'm not holding my breath! But it's Latics - and anything can happen
  6. And then gives that manager some time in the hot seat to re-establish the nucleus of a squad
  7. You shouldn't have to be subjected to this Tracey. No way! Unfortunately there is always an extreme element appears when there are times of trouble. Bunch of Cowards - the lot of them! Hope you are okay now. Hopefully in the ideals of James Bond - maybe shaken , - but not stirred! KTF and keep up the good work. SL
  8. Good call 22 Absolutely made my morning when I read Shucky's "call to arms this morning". Hilarious! Well done Shuck Very entertaining and upbeat! . Just what's needed right now.
  9. Let's hope so. I know we're in a different era now but Joe Royle nearly took us down first season - Derby went down on goal difference if I remember. So sometimes having the time makes all the difference. However, I. do realise this will ba AL's 4th appointment in 12 months
  10. Fair play to all those who went today. Proud of you with such a great turn out. Just watching MOTD and those at top of PL ain't perfect listening to the pundits. We're L2 - we ain't going to be perfect either. Much as it frustrates us. I love my job ( sad I know ) but I ain't always perfect at it either. Let's have a bit of perspective. Sometimes it's good (ie Fulham) and the rest of the time its just another day at the office - much as we wish it could be different.
  11. Yes - but how much more did you learn in the "University of Life" at The Farrars that has served you better in life?
  12. Agree to a greater degree. However, the worry now compared to previous years is we have no board - running a multi million pound business. In which other walk of life would you find this? ( and I'm usually the eternal optimist!) And you have you ever seen this turn out successfully?
  13. I'd say that's impressive tbf. 4 yrs later and a league lower - and I believe they only brought 62. COYB. ?
  14. Great to see. Thanks for sharing. Tremendous away support. Really lifts the spirits along with the result! COYB ?
  15. Cheers KIG, Sorry to say - but this this is real life. A quick fix it ain't gonna be. This is month's - if not years of mismanagement to fix. ?
  16. I know everything isn't rosy in the garden right now, but bear with him. FB says he's in to rebuild, and this will take time. He's asked fans for patience. We haven't got the fully fit team out there yet. Seem to remember Joe Royle's first season we survived on goal difference over Derby. And look what happened after that. Also, remember Wigan coming down from Championship not so long ago? Did nothing up to Christmas, then flew up the league. This is a rebuild from the inside out and is going to take time unfortunately. Hang on in there. This is Latics. It can, and will happen again for us, - one day :)
  17. Sorry Steve, Not been on here since Saturday night as I was out all day yesterday. I was in school in an old mining village just outside Durham from age 4-19; (Bobby Robson's birthplace as it happens)
