  1. I get the analogy. I'm more annoyed with Hudson telling a fan to "Shut the fuck up", the arrogant twat. I understand the frustration but Mellon should know better.
  2. Yes, I think you have the right to fight your corner but not with verbal abuse. The customer is king, we pay for the privilege [if that's what you call it] of watching the product served up by the manager and his team. It's shit, we can complain, they can answer but keep it civil and clean. It's subjective. We're going to have to agree to disagree.
  3. Good job the person responsible is not the president of the United States!
  4. Somebody with a sense of humour at the club? I think it was a mistake.
  5. Stopped playing how they could on purpose or stopped by inept management tactical choices?
  6. I think the point is being missed. If I told a customer to "Shut the fuck up" or "Fuck off" I would be sacked immediately. These people are no different than we are, bar the fucking comparatively huge salaries and public profile as representatives of our club. You would think that fact would not go unnoticed by the manager and players and they would have the decency to actually do some work to earn their bloated pay packages. If they are feeling the heat from the fans then either put in a fucking convincing performance on the pitch [which is actually their job] or just fuck off altogether. The fact that most of the imposters are going to be here next season, along with a really depressing manager, is just making we want to give it a miss. Unfortunately for me, Oldham Athletic is my one and only team and to turn my back on it is nigh on impossible.

  8. What, along with Hudson telling someone to "Shut the fuck up"? Seems to me there is a slightly acrimonious attitude in the dressing room and no professionalism. Fans pay to watch football and expect their highly paid professional team [manager included] to at least put on a show. Even if the guy had swore at him, Mellon should be the bigger man and keep composed. Fan criticism is part of the game, accept it, they get paid enough.
  9. If I told a customer to "Fuck off" after getting 'advice', I would be sacked immediately. Maybe a method in his madness. Seriously, Mellon shouldn't be using inflammatory language to members of the paying public, especially if youngsters are in earshot. He is a major representative of the club and should know better, despite the perceived insult, which it certainly wasn't.
  10. We allow the dust to settle, enjoy the summer and let the drama unfold, which it inevitably will.
  11. I'm not sure regarding the football league but we finished 12th on 61pts last season. Interestingly, both Barnet and Bromley were in the playoffs as were Boreham Wood who have now dropped out of the league and Woking just scraped it.
  12. He's not going to get that opportunity this summer either by the look of the situation with existing contracts.
  13. What Fondop has, besides the ability to pick up the odd red card, is a desire and energy to play football plus he is most probably the only first-team player to actually care about the club. That's the impression I get from him.
  14. I listened to MM's post-match and to me at least, he repeats the message from last Saturday with the compliment that the players last night "left everything on the pitch". I didn't see the game so I cannot possibly comment. He does concede the goals were sloppy and we should have held the lead after which he mumbles about getting more quality in defence and attack when surely he should be saying we need more quality and pace in midfield. He also mentioned Green and having a winger on the pitch which is at odds with his comment regarding wingers being a thing of the past. Am I imagining things here? If he walks, he walks and I won't be upset about it..we go again with a new manager who will inherit a squad largely inherited by the previous manger, albeit with a few additions and who will have to make his own additions. If this was to happen then a new incumbent would need to be in place as soon as possible..which is blindingly obvious. With out of contract players leaving and hopefully a few more moved on [miracle required] I believe it is possible for Mellon to use his experience and contacts to get what we need. If he stays, he stays and that won't bother me especially if he makes some capable signings during the close season. "I know what good looks like and where to get it" Let's hope you do.
  15. Fifty years plus and this season flattered to deceive for a good while, then it showed its true colours or rather the so-called team did. I have felt worse than this but we were higher and the fall was a disaster, this one feels like slap in the face for having the nerve to believe we could come good this season. My version of Oldham Athletic has gone and will never return. At least I have seen the good times and experienced the elation of success. There have been times at BP when me and my daughters wouldn't have been anywhere else in the world, at that moment in time.
  16. No matter how much we call for his head, he ain't going anywhere unless he walks..which he may do. He's already saying his hands are tied and to me that means not much will change next season. Stick or twist with the manager but the players are either totally shit or have completely downed tools and I don't think anything will change with a new man in charge. Imposter syndrome is rife at BP.
  17. Saturday's attendance will be shit. I saw a glimmer of hope when we took the lead twice but the draw was always lurking in the background.
  18. Which it could just well become if the ST sales are as piss poor as we expect them to be. Frank's homecoming after rowing the Atlantic at over seventy years of age was a colossal achievement and phenomenal effort. The clowns on the pitch couldn't even match a fraction of that for 90 fucking minutes. They bottled it before the ball was even kicked. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from thereon in. Shite after shite, gutless and can't-be-arsed performances for whatever reason the fans will never know, unless some fucker spills the beans on social media. I don't expect them to beat Halifax and Wealdstone will probably be another 0-0. Predicting Southend to sneak into the final spot and Barnet to clinch promotion.
  19. Probably too embarrassed to publish any updates. Can't possibly see the lofty heights of last close season being reached.
  20. Obviously they think Halifax competing to get into the playoffs will provide some entertainment as they glide past a big club like Latics. Might as well give them the three points now. I wonder how many Chesterfield fans will attend to cheer on Halifax?
  21. You could be correct and what a victory that would be for the useless set of football imposters we have playing [and I use the term loosely] at the club.
  22. I can't get to matches because of a health condition and distance double-whammy but can manage the occasional game now and again. I go 50-50 with a mate who can get to most games, so although not a full contribution, a little is better than nothing. I think the OP has made a pretty good case for getting behind the club if not the set of tossers we have playing for us at the moment.
  23. I elected to retain Fondop for his threat and unpredictability and Green for the player we know he can be..but, if they do go, I am not going to lose any sleep over it. It's a shame Conlon's head was fucked over, however he may be useful with some better players alongside him, I hope.
  24. Finally listened to the post match interview and the underlying disgust with the players is there for all to see. To me, he has come as close to calling them out in public as he possibly can. They're shit and they've downed tools as well and as he rightly points out, many will still be here stealing a living next season. What a fuck up it was to allow Unsworth the close season. Barring a fucking miracle, I cannot see much being different next season, many of the same players with the same issues churning out the same shite unless he can bring in some quality in the required areas to drag the others up to scratch. I'm just very sceptical right now. In all honesty, if he stays, he's going to need two close seasons to recruit before we stand any chance of getting back into the league. I'm not sure a different manager will do any better with the clowns he would have at his disposal.
