  1. It's what he is there for, to prevent the ball going into the net as the last line of defence. How many times have Latics been on the end of a defeat to a team playing badly and a 'keeper playing out of his skin? I've seen it quite a few times in my many years.
  2. Poor but still won. Hopefully Mellon will give them a few 'pointers'.
  3. It's the exclamation marks. ! We're all different. I'd like a few more in the second half, especially from Norwood but I can feel a Sheron special coming on.
  4. McShane, their second leading goal scorer is out, I believe. Can Latics continue the good form on the road? Let the predictions begin. I'm going for 1-3, Dorking scoring first.
  5. "Meat pie, sausage roll come on Oldham give us..." No thanks. Don't mind "Mouldy Old Dough" as part of our tradition but 'Boys in Blue' means nothing to me. My fave was when the players emerged to "Who Let the Dogs Out?". I think was a player's choice [Lee Duxbury?] Fanfare for the Common Man is one to keep although the young ones probably wouldn't agree. I can't listen to Roy anymore, it's so bad it's embarrassing and as much as he has done for the club, it needs changing.
  6. According to MM in his post-match, they have and still are looking for a right back. According to some, RBs should be ten-a-penny but apparently not. Somebody has mentioned the fact that RBs playing well will not be for sale and maybe there are none available on loan from the EFL..or at least it's proving tricky going down that route.
  7. Ex Hartlepool manager, Askey, claims the Stones goal was offside. I think he knew what was coming.
  8. Unfortunately, I think it only works one way! I really hope the hoodoo is put to bed tomorrow.
  9. It's called angerulity. I haven't watched it, so cannot comment on content but my sentiments are the same as yours.
  10. To be fair, all the players should now be playing the antithesis of 'Rhinoball'. They've had long enough to get it out of their system.
  11. You suggesting a swap? Can't see Norwood going anywhere and rightly so, also can't envisage Stones staying with us. He will probably score in every game from now until his loan is up and making himself a mini-legend in the process.
  12. Which is good but maybe they could make it so it's heard throughout, before the game and on pretty loud. Might give the players a bit of a nudge in the right direction.
  13. I'd expect nothing less from you ..and you. :D Seriously, the home-form hoodoo needs to be well and truly buried tomorrow and I believe once the first home win of Mellon's tenure is achieved, then lots more will follow..not at the expense of the away-form, I hope. Anyway, I am going for just that and a repeat of the last score line, only a home win of 3-1. Come on lads. you know you want to.
  14. Yeah, sorry, the 'greedy' tag was my own thoughts. I think body language thing can be deceptive and open to interpretation. I used to think Andy Murray's body language was quite bad and he looked knackered even before a ball was hit, but he didn't do too badly.
  15. Generous and good natured strikers probably don't score as many goals as the greedy and arrogant ones and how do you know he "isn't great for the team spirit"? We have no idea what the other players think of him and after the Reid/McGahey fiasco, I doubt they will be voicing any derogatory opinions.
  16. That's the point though, isn't it? He should have known better..and any player who joined in should have known better. Anything put on social media stays there, even when it's removed because it's been spread like a fucking virus before you know it. Reid has provided the club with the perfect excuse to never play him again and possibly terminate his contract. McGahey probably treading on thin ice too. Social media is a dangerous game. Reid should be given every opportunity to present his side of the how's and why's of what he did. Maybe he will come out of it without too much damage but somehow, I doubt it.
  17. If the team keeps winning away from home the hope and possibility of a home win is reinforced. Start losing away and home, then it may happen.
  18. They scored four at Wealdstone last Saturday, who themselves scored four then won away at Maidenhead today. This league is baffling with many teams performing better on the road.
  19. Which could be a long time off, right now. I'd get a sports psychologist as soon as possible and find out why they cannot perform at BP.
  20. Hopefully, the phenomenon of teams losing at home ends tomorrow.
