Good players know how to pace themselves through 90 minutes. Majority of our players spend time chasing the ball and as a result are gassed out by 50-60 mins in. We never ever retain possession and slow down play. Most and I use that’s loosely are reactive and do not read the game well in our squad.

Yes i agree, he gave 100% and its a shame whatever happened behind closed doors has surely sealed his exit. Interestingly, he's made quite the name for himself in Indonesia. One of the "top" players, sponsored by Adidas Indonesia and fronted the new predator campaign there too. Also very popular on instagram as a influencer. Just shows what you can do with average talent, but the correct business mind as a player.

Not sure of the accuracy here but on football manager 2018 they went back today and couldn’t play on this game on this date on the football sim.

I think hunt has been vastly underrated in past weeks, provides vital balance to our team and shape. Doesn’t do anything out of the world but does the simple things well and provides confidence to the cbs on the left and Nep / or who ever plays in front of him freedom going forward - When playing 4 at the back.

Or hunt is fit, on the bench to make numbers as he’s ours but already been sold on agreement so not playing ?. Would be typical. No facts just worse case scenario.

I hope your right and they are signed or replaced. Been a pleasure to watch them so far this season. Replacing is much harder though as the current group have a good understanding of each other’s game and developed that quickly . May not be so quick or as effective with replacements with the time they have to help us push on for the rest of the season.

I’m aware of that , i was referring to the other two on that part. I was echoing rumours he may be out in January with the 300k clause that’s be thrown about.

I would say this is a reflection of how we would perform with out Doyle , hunt and Bryan for the rest of the season if they are not signed or replaced really. Can’t polish a turd with the current line up.

I really thought this was relevant and something that Simon and the long term future of the club should be taken into serious consideration for the next generation for Oldham fans that won't be. This season I brought my 10 year old daughter who was really excited to come and watch after watching the friendlies which were not fantastic, but at least some what entertaining and had goals. The first few games she remained positive and looked forward to going. As the season has gone on she has lost more and more interest with the games being boring and the lack of entertainment pre game and at half time. I think she has enjoyed the kids playing at half time more than the actual matches. Today it hit home, we have had no home matches for a while now due to the canceled match the other week and I said are you looking forward to it after not going for so long. She shrugged her shoulders. To which I said whats wrong? do you not want to go, she replies its pretty boring and that she doesn't want to return next season. Then said she would rather go watch another team where it is more exciting to watch. Oldham have not manage to create any kind of affinity with her. She cant even buy a chaddy the owl cuddly toy at the shop. Chaddy the owl was always something that I remember that grew my affinity to the club at a younger age, a bit of fun that you can relate too. Going a bit of topic but its just a little point. I always remember when I was a that age and my dad took me, it was entertaining, pre match, during the match at half time with various things going. Even during relegation seasons, where we fought to stay up and didn't. With this style of play, lack of investment and drab football keep us in the division. Maybe , maybe not. But in the long term we are losing the next generation of fans as well as current ones. That is the most damaging long term effect on the club. Would we be happier watching the team go for it and create and score goals and potentially concede more as well? We may get relegated because the players are not good enough, but we would be entertained. We may get relegated anyway on this style of football and lack of entertainment. Will many fans return next season? maybe not. If it was more entertaining maybe they would. I just think its interesting and worrying that the club has lost so much focus on the long term, the future fans and the fact that we should be entertained before, half time and during the match from the football. Maybe Simon should sit down with a focus group of the younger fans. The future of the football club.

First post here on OWTB after waiting months to get on! lol Im a returning fan after 9 years out or working weekends and decided to take the plunge and get a season ticket for this season after being impressed by robinson and how quickly he built a team that has potential! Yesterday was an extremely disappointing after watching us become a solid unit over the past few weeks, really only lacking understanding and the correct mix of players in the attacking positions. Personally, i thought Robinson got the tactics and selection completely wrong and Swindon got it spot on with the formation, set up and tactics they played against us. It was quite clear early on that they were aiming to play as wide as possible stretching our narrow formation and taking our center midfield completely out of the game. Time and time again which even my 9 year old daughter was spotting, Swindons full backs and left wingers were doubling up on law and dunne keeping them pushed back and attaching them with freedom on either side with both of them receiving no support from either the midfielders or our RF and LF (croft and Erwin). When our midfielders did support the fullbacks and got pulled accross this then created holes in the middle of the park which swindon were quick to exploit quickly switching the ball back through the middle running at our defense. This continually happened over and over again as our midfield was none existent with the passing being to slow or our players playing long balls to Erwin again which doesn't work. Erwin is a footballer and wants the ball to his feet and i felt his 110% efffort in the rest of the matches had caught up with him today needs a rest causing him to make mistakes and not be as sharp as previous weeks and our main threat. I have not seen Robinsons match interview after the game but on anaylsis im sure he will see that we got it completely wrong both on selection and tactics used. Hoping for a better set up tuesday and serious work in training on the midfield selection that will star the game. If we are going to play a 433 hybrid formation we will need our LF and RW to press the full backs back and track to allow a 3 man midfield to dominate the other team. Croft cant do this against younger and stronger opposition and unfortunately needs to be an impact sub when the opposing team are tired.
