He is not a striker, not a midfielder, and not a winger. Fantastic engine but we need 2 good strikers were both take their chances. Warney misses a fair amount of sitters for us. He has scored in double figures, you cannot moan about that. How many other supporting strikers in this division have done that? None is the answer. If he does leave us, he will ceratinly go to another league one side. Have we never tried him on the right, with Lids up front? Cant remember how that turned out... Well we tried Warne on the right at Brentford away, he took lidds off. He won the corner that drew the match and guess what, he was chasing a lost cause again. However his effort and what he contributes to the team mean he should as someone has previously said be offered another 12 months. Definitley need some pace in the team next season though! Markoasis Posted May 14, 2007 Share Posted May 14, 2007 Its not about what he deserves, there are several players who are out of contract and 'probally' deserve another year after all their efforts this year. However its time to step up a gear next year whether in the Championship or challenging for promotion again in the first. The simple fact is the squad at the moment has been good enough to put us in a position for promotion but most continue to improve. Haining for example is one of those who as done well for the club, sorry he's not going to get much better as a player and so won't we... do you see what I'm getting at? We need to get a few players in of a higher standard to compliment the young up and coming players and build the team around Gregan / Wellens ... hopefully in the Championship. Promotion or not players are now going to seriously consider offers to join this club and work under Shezza.
