BP1960
therefore filling another dubious solicitors pockets with the fees and leaving us with enough for a Nandos. Yes solicitors are dubious ..... see Megsons/Chartbridge/Hilton Legal. Oldham Chron articles.... and SRA actions.http://www.sra.org.uk/consumers/solicitor-check/597332.article The whole Richards situation a farce....and sooner over better. If he signs in Summer City are benefitting financially now by offloading wages how corrupt. Richards will be out of contract next summer, in that case would Fiorentina be obliged to pay a transfer fee if its not included in the loan deal? Stevie_J
I think we can safely say we're coming out of this with :censored: all. He'll be back in the Premier League next season, Chris Makin style.
HarryBosch
Eh ?? They are taking a loan fee PLUS saving % of 70k a week on wages for rest of season therefore benefit financially ....getting more back than the free at end of season and paying wages for season whilst sits on arse. If they could sell of course but thats not the way Richards is playing it. Perhaps if a lower fee agreed at end being part of deal??? We will never know. So they wouldn't rather sell him for £5m or £10m or more like us?
BP1960
If it's not included in the loan deal no, but it will be. It could be a verbal agreement, what if he flops and they send him back to City? Some loan arrangements have been known not to last the course and cut short. laticdickovarmy
Said all summer it will be a loan deal. Why would anyone pay cash for a player with an injury record like his and lack of game time last few years. In addition to this he is free to walk in the summer. It suits all parties.... oh yeah apart from bloody Latics ffs lol at least this talk is over now
LaticsPete
MEN reporting a loan fee likely "Reports in Italy suggest a loan deal is in the offing, with City receiving a fee upon its completion - as they did with Gareth Barry's move to Everton, despite his contract having expired." but , of course, it's the devil in the detail of the agreement signed with City all those years ago as , and FA regs and interpretations, that will determine if anything comes our way

jimsleftfoot
Matt Chambers on Twitter " To confirm, #oafc will get nothing from the impending Micah Richards loan deal to Fiorentina." I'm not hopeful but Matt has only commented on the loan and not the optional future deal to make it permanant.
oldhamoafc
He's out of contract at the end of the season... He can go on loan until his contract is over. Then we get diddly squat
Senor_Coconut
City got a fee for Barry even though he was out of contract, it was part of the original loan deal.
Stevie_J
No doubt we'll get sod all but at what point would the authorities (or courts) step in, do you suppose? Torres has just gone on a two-year loan. What if Richards did the same for a hefty loan fee? What if he had five years left on his contract and City 'loaned' him out for five years for £10m? Obviously it would still depend on the wording of the contract but I think a court would take a dim view of a bigger club trying to work its way around such a clause in that manner. Few seasons ago think Bradford got money from United for the loan fees they received for Cleverley
BP1960
City got a fee for Barry even though he was out of contract, it was part of the original loan deal. Correct Senor, and if the Fiorentina deal is similar surely the Latics will get a percentage of that agreed fee next season? We will just have to wait a year for it. My reservation is loan deals have been terminated early by many other clubs, what happens if that happens with Richards come next June? We will just have to wait a year for it. That would be dependant on Richards deciding he wants to stay with Fiorentina whereas, as a free agent, his wage negotiations other clubs would be more in his favour as they'd have no fee to pay. He'll do a season in Italy & then be back to Blighty on a free next year.

I recogn so as well, we can all hope that he's going to like it in Italy and he'll sign up for them but it's hard to believe with the number of clubs interested in him this time round, it will be a war of the wages at the end of the season and I can't see Fiorentina winning

As part of the agreement, Fiorentina will hold an option to make Richards' move permanent next summer." So if they don't want him, no money for the Latics?
